Is Shula's worth not having a discount?

I have a TIW card and when I was making my dining reservations, my boyrfriend and I wanted to do a steakhouse. Canada was booked and Shula's doesn't take TIW, so I made a reservation for Yachtmsan, which we've been to already. But is Shula's worth forgoing TIW for that meal? The menu looks great, but I've never been there, so I'd appreciate anyone's help and opinion who has been there!

My DH and I just went in October and we really loved Shula's. We had a great experience - the food was superior - both of our steaks were perfect. And the service was excellent. Yummy food, but don't know if not being able to use your TIW is worth it - that's 20% off including alcohol, right? Have never been to the Yachtsman, so can't really compare. But I can recommend Shula's in general.

We've dined at both, several times.

We have not but positive reviews for both Shula's & The Yachtsman. Shula's is "Top of the Line". Yes, it is worth it.

We have not eaten at the Yachtsman yet(we have an ADR for Jan.), but the best steak I have ever put in my mouth was at Shula's. Shula's for sure is a :thumbsup2!

O BOY! LOL...I'm torn- I just made a reservation for Shula's as well....I'm going to speak with my bf this weekened and go over all of our reservations and see what he says lol thanks so much for all your help!!

Shula's is the best steak in all of Fla. Forget WDW, they can't compare AT ALL.

Shula's is not worth it even with a discount.

Head over to Flying Fish, they have one of the best steaks on property (and yes, it is better than the steaks at Yachtsman)

Shula's is worth eating at with or with out a Discount. It is one of the Better Steak Houses in the country.
Yes I said COUNTRY.

Shula's is a chain. There is one located inside the Westin Times Square. Just hop on public transport in NYC if you want to try it out.

So are Morton’s, Ruth's Chriss and Capitol Grille and they are all better than the Yachtsman IMO.

If you’re on vacation at Disney and want a great steak, not just a good steak then Shula's is it.

Also if you want an adults night out you are much less likley to have kids at the table next too you at Shula's.

The big name chains serve prime beef. Yachtsman does not. If you want to pay prime prices but be served choice meat then go to Yachtsman.

Personally I can go to a fantastic steak house all over the US, I go for something different that is unique to WDW when dining in Disney.

True. But a lot of people who would not go to these high end steak places in their home towns will when on vacation in Disney for some reason. For some reason they do not mind spending money in Disney. I have many friends with this attitude.

Also, not to be difficult, but a lot of the "unique" food is gone in Disney since the addition of the DDP, but that is another thread. ;)

If they asked I would recommend Blue Zoo over Shula’s, but they want a nice steak.

I am with you. I don't understand the appeal of so many of the generic restaurants in WDW. We are going with another family in February. They were practically doing cart wheels excited that we got Le Cellier. I could give or take it, but am going to be part of the group time and not the great dining experience.

Yeah :(

I know a lot of people will disagree strongly with this but, I feel that Le Cellier is the most overrated meal in Disney.
The steak is OK, but no better than a chain like Bugaboo Creek.
I think that is the best comparison. It is successful because of the DDP.
Bugaboo also has better desserts IMO.

The Crème Brulee at Le Cellier was beyond disappointing. We had it in the past and it was excellent. (about 5 years ago)

We ordered it 2 years ago.
The waitress talked us out of each ordering one because it was so huge (paying OOP).
When it came it was about 2 millimeters thick and 4 inches wide.
Beyond ridiculous.
I thought maybe she was trying to warn us without saying it was bad but then she even came back and said, “Wow your already done with it.”

Done with what? I will not return. The creme brulee at Sunshine Seasons is much nicer.

Ate at Shula's last week. Ate at Yachtsman Sunday. Both were good, but the quality of steak, and overall service, at Shula's, was worth not getting the 20% discount.
Both are quite good, and sometimes the 20% swings us to Yachtsman, but comparing the two places side by side, IMHO, Shula's is worth the 20% difference.

I am one that would agree with you on Le Cellier. We have been twice. The first time I thought it was pretty good. This past May we went and I was really not impressed at all. I have had better steaks at The Sizzler, and I told my DW that I would never go back.

I will once again say that Shula's is the best steak I've ever had. I would go there without a discount and pay full price.
