Is sharing meals frowned upon?

we usually get the dining plan for convenience but not this time. Is sharing meals frowned upon at a TS restaurant? Mainly I am thinking of sharing with my DD who is 7 because she never eats her meal anyway. But I may also share a meal with my mom who is going with us.

My wife and I share a meal, and my two boys share a meal and our daughter gets a kids meal. Not a problem at all,

you cannot share meals at: Buffets, family style AYCE restaurants, fixed price resturants (like CRT or Akershus), dinner shows, special events or meal packages. Everybody pays at those. anywhere else, you will probably be allowed to.

As the PP said, as long as you are paying out of pocket, most places will allow you to share without issue. I've shared at several locations in WDW without problems. You cannot share at buffets (e.g., Chef Mickey), all-you-care-to-eat/family style meals (e.g., 'Ohana), dinner shows (e.g., HDDR), fixed priced meals (e.g., CRT), or dining packages (e.g., Fantasmic dining package) - each person will be charged in these cases.

when paying OOP I've shared meals at: LTT, Via Napoli, 50s, La Hacienda, Spice Road Table, Rose & Crown, Mama Melrose, Raglan Road... and maybe a few others that I can't remember.

If sharing we usually share the main meal and get salad or soup along with drinks (or cocktails) and have not come across any issues

How about Le Cellier? Anyone share a steak there? And can you ask for an extra plate when you share (anywhere)?

What about BOG breakfast which says it is fixed priced, but there seems to be some mixed opinions on that.

Bog breakfast appears to be up in the air because it's fixed price but also considered counter service. I am betting as soon as they figure out that large groups are coming in with only one or two persons ordering anything, it'll be clarified.

We always share meals and like bucky1023 said we sometimes will get our own salad or soup and it's plenty. I also have ordered off the kids menu any times and it's still too much food

At Yachtsman they increase the 28oz Porterhouse to 32oz and then doubled the price probably because people were sharing. I mean who can eat a 28oz steak themselves!

My husband I have shared meals all over Disney World. We have never had any problem. Some times they actually split the meal and some times they bring out an extra plate. We are happy either way. Just think if you are still hungry at the end of the meal, maybe you can order an extra dessert.pixiedust:

Now you are speaking my language!

My husband and daughter shared a steak at Le Cellier. We had poutine to share as an appetizer, and filled up on bread, so it just made sense. The waiter didn't bat an eyelash, and of course, brought two plates (without anyone asking). Worked out great.
