We just bought SSR and are waiting for our points- June UY and final payment on deposit. We are thinking of going for a trip in September - do you think this will be difficult? We would want a studio and are flexible as to the resort.

Thanks!

Chances are probably pretty good. September and January are probably the "slowest" months for DVC and WDW in general. Children are just returning to school from extended vacations and parents are less likely to pull them out for trips.

Hi,
Welcome Home.....
We went last year the week after Labor Day and it was very quite a great time to be there.

Sept, Jan, and May are the slowest times at DVC. You should have not have much of a problem. I would call your guide to arrange the first visit. That would surely help.

Thanks! I am really excited now to book our first trip home:Pinkbounc Thanks for letting me know the usual slow times.

in september.
Weather is less rainy but you can get hurricanes.
It is lovebug season which can be very annoying.

September has been really easy to get what we want (not Labor Day). May has been harder for the Epcot resorts. We own points at both BCV and VWL.

I booked at the 7 month window for May this year for the Epcot area and I couldn't get BCV, but I did manage to snag Boardwalk (standard view no less - weird, huh?). I think May having the flower celebration at Epcot makes it a little harder. And then the BCV being smaller than Boardwalk makes it harder to book, thus the reason why we bought points at BCV!

January after New Years is over has been easy to get what we want also.

We usually travel in September, January, and May. May has been the hardest one to snag, especially for BCV when we have waited to book and lost our home resort advantage.

I love Sept. Yep, it is hurricane season, but, it is hurricane season from June to Nov.
Lovebugs don't bite, so, while they can be annoying they are harmless.
I will take the off chance of a hurricane (we went during Floyd and CT had it worse than FL) and the love bugs over the crowds in the summer.

I'll jump in to say that we've gone down most September's since 1975--it's a great time to go, crowd wise and weather wise. And we've never had a bit of a problem getting a room since we've been DVC members.
True-it is hurricane season and anything can happen. But we've only encountered one hurricane in all previous trips--and that was here in Pa.-not Florida!!!

Thank you, everyone! sounds like we picked a good time to go.
I remember one August when I went for 8 days and all I wore was a big yellow poncho because it rained EVERY SINGLE DAY. all day. I can't remember if it was related to a hurricane or just rainy season, but I would love to avoid that in the future.
