Is Ron Jon worth the extra $10?UPDATE P. 2

We stayed at the Radisson on the 20 of February and really enjoyed it, our room was very nice and clean, the pool was great and my kids really enjoyed it, we did not see any food around the pool. I ust wanted to give a positive review on that hotel, we thought that it was very pleasant and well maintained, and the staff was great.

Used the AAA code this morning to book 3 studios for $117 each--1 BR was $171 (it must be that darn holiday weekend)--still, it is $2 less than the Radisson and I really, really want to try it. Since it is newly opened I think it will be more impressive for my family. We are going from rooms that have 2 double beds and a regular bathroom to a king size bed, fold out in a nice sitting area and a HUGE bathroom. No balconies on the studios it looks like, but that's OK. Has anyone stayed in a studio?

I booked 3 studios for April 30th, before the 7 day Eastern on May 1st, and got the rate of 82.50 including tax. If there isn't anyone staying before then I will try to report back to what it was like. My inlaws drove by it last week and said it was very impressive, and that you could even see the cruise ships from there.

Also I need to fix my countdown clock could someone help me? The problem is, it is going way to slow.

piglet, I think I am on the 10/02 with you! We were going to switch to Ron Jon too, before our 9/25 cruise...but the studios do not have washers/dryers, and they have no laundry on site!!! Since we are doing WDW days prior to this, laundry is a must prior to cruising, so we had to keep our ressies at the Radisson just to have clean clothes! It would have saved us $$ to stay at Ron Jon, too, in the studio. I got a quote on a 1 bedroom, and that would have been a bit too much over the Radisson price just to stay there for 12 hours.....you'll have to let me know how everything worked for you there, though!

two-foxes - we are on the same cruise. I've seen a couple of your posts on the Cruise Meets board. Our group of people is really growing. I can't wait to meet all the new people.

Take Care - Renee'

I'm not Nysie, but I used Code 102 and got a studio for $75 for October 1. There are a couple of other codes around, but I think they're all for the same percentage off. It just depends on when you're staying there.

I just called to book those studios and tried the "102" code (I had used the "260" AAA code). I got the studio rooms for $97.50!! It was only $107.25 including tax for each room, so I'm saving about $23 each room! WHEEEE!
Check in time is 4 and we'll be there about noon, but she said we are welcome to use the facilities while waiting for room keys. She also noted that I wanted the 3 rooms together but no guarantees.
So remember, use "102" which is 25% off, instead of "260" which is only 10% off.
GOTTA LOVE THE BOARDS!!!

Wow, they have a shuttle now? When I called last month to make my ressie, they didn't have a shuttle. That is so cool! Do you know if there is a charge for the shuttle?

Thanks,

Renee'

We will have transportation while in FL and planned on parking at the port. However, now that the resort is arranging shuttle service with parking on their property (or so is the rumor) we may end up considering this service if the shuttle price is a decent bit less then port parking.

I just called about the price of a studio for our 7/10 cruise. The price is $97.50 plus tax for a total of $107. She told me that the studio was a king bed and a sofa sleeper. We have a room on hold at the Radisson for $89.00 w/tax totaling $97.90. I guess for the extra $10.00, it will be worth it. It will be new, and the kids don't mind sleeping on a sofa sleeper!, especially since they just saw the pics. of the resort!!:sunny:

piglet33- from what I've been reading they contract out their shuttle service at a fee per person. I plan on renting from Budget again,(last Jan. it was only 26.00 one way from MCO to Port, and 44.00 from Port to MCO) they do have a free service to the port.

Well it sounds like Ron Jon is quickly becoming the resort of choice at the Port!

Now we just need a few more first hand reviews. We're still about 2 months away from our stay, but we'll post our review when we return.

Just booked Ron Jon!! I used code 102 for 25% off!! Will anyone else be there July 9th????? :wave2:

I'd like to hear back from you guys on your stay at Ron Jon's since we won't be going for over a year. I've never done one of those time share tours and really don't like them, but from what other people are saying, you don't have to do them. Would love to see people's pictures from their stay, so post post post

Does anyone know how late the pool is open? We are driving and won't be into the port until 8 ish. I don't want to have this beautiful pool and have to say sorry to 2 kids that have been in the car for 10 hours!!!:D But if it is open late then WOOHOO!!! Let's swim off some off that car fatigue!!!!::yes::

I got so excited when I went to their website and I saw be an owner. We are looking to buy a vacation condo in Florida and I though they were perfect

- until I read further and saw they were timeshares.

We stayed there one time and DH and I said we don't need to
stay there again. This new Ron Jon Resort is sounding awesome. PLEASE, anyone who has stayed at least one night, respond for us. I'm not interested in time-share. I'm interested in one night before the cruise. Thank you.
