Just wonderin'.....I can get 3 studios at Ron Jon for 7/2 for $130 each, vs. the $119 I'm paying at the Radisson right now...just one night...but we'll be there most of the day since our plane gets into Sanford at 10am--figure we can also take some quick breakfast eats and not have to pay for breakfast food. We will have 2 minivans rented for the 11 of us so no shuttle worries, DH and BIL will drop the rest of us off and get the Budget shuttle back to the port.
We stayed at the Radisson last year (just my fam. of 5) and paid $119 for the whirlpool room. I thought it was a little worn, but it was rainy out that day, and we were disappointed that the pool was closed for a private party. Now we are paying the same price for a regular room. So I checked Ron Jons and the studio is $130. What do you think? (please no more hotel recommendations either, my head is spinning enough already trying to get this stuff together)

Can't help you with your decision, but I sure know that "head spinning" feeling! ;)

Rock'n Robin,
Can't help with Ron Jon as a place to stay...yet. We are scheduled to stay on May 27-29.

Just wondering if you were able to use any of the discount codes that were posted here? We used code 102 from the Feb. issue of Florida Travel Magazine for 25% off our Ron Jon studio.

Shirley (from The Perfect Gift) also had a code that she posted that was good for 25% off. I can't remember what that was, but I'm sure if you contact her she can give it to you.

Okay....then I won't tell you that through Priceline you can get nice hotel on the beach for under $40! :teeth:

I just found another code-260, for 25% off Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort. This one was in a AAA magazine mailed to me today. Maybe this could help!

I have that magazine! Unfortunately they JUST changed their reservation hours. All day the answering maching message has been "we are open Monday-Saturday from 8AM until 7PM"--just now it was "we are open Monday-Friday from 8AM until 7PM and Saturday from 8AM until 5PM"--of course I called at 5:09! So I guess I'll find out Monday. 25% would mean studios would only be $98? That would be unreal. I can't believe I can't get any info until Monday!

We will be staying at the Ron Jon resort this May in a one-bedroom unit for just over $100 a night, with the code. To us, this was a good price for a nice size unit and the amenities at the resort seem to be great. I have only read one report on the resort from someone who has stayed there recently and it sounded like a nice place for our family! We were originally booked at the Radisson and decided to flip our reservation over to the Ron Jon resort.

Of course, you always have priceline and hotwire if you want to get a hotel for a low price!

Price isn't our only consideration, since we will be there almost a full day and the 5 kids range from 6 to 15 I think a nice pool area is very important...the beach is a bonus...I don't want to spend MORE than the regular price, but if I can spend less it would be awesome. Just wishing I could find out sooner. Now I'll have to call during work. Oh well! Thank goodness for cell phones.

Rock'n Robin-

I think the variety of activities offered at the Ron Jon could work out great with the age range of kids.

Rock'nRobin- Hope you get a good price when you call on Monday!! Let us know how you did! :wave2:

I was going to stay at the Radisson and then found out about Ron Jon. I called and got a 1 bedroom studio since it's only the 3 of us (DH, me and my 2 year DD). With the code, I wound up paying less than I would have if I stayed at the Radisson. We have a car from Budget so the shuttle is not a problem for us.

I've heard a lot of good things about Ron Jon so far, and the place looks absolutely gorgeous.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

piglet, I think I am on the 10/02 with you! We were going to switch to Ron Jon too, before our 9/25 cruise...but the studios do not have washers/dryers, and they have no laundry on site!!! Since we are doing WDW days prior to this, laundry is a must prior to cruising, so we had to keep our ressies at the Radisson just to have clean clothes! It would have saved us $$ to stay at Ron Jon, too, in the studio. I got a quote on a 1 bedroom, and that would have been a bit too much over the Radisson price just to stay there for 12 hours.....you'll have to let me know how everything worked for you there, though!

We just booked Ron Jon's yesterday and were able to use the 102 code w/out any problem...thanks for that by the way...everyone.

Anyway ended up booking a 2 bedroom for 2 nights, decided to splurge since getting the discount and have 3 teenage boys...the xtra bathroom will help. We also will be there on a Saturday before our cruise (Mariner) and figure the extra cost in hotel price would have been what we would have paid to do some excursion for the day like Universal or water parks....This way we don't have to go anywhere since Ron Jon's seems to have it all! I was originally booked w/ Embassy near MCO but have cancelled. I'm looking forward to staying at Ron Jon's....so new and looks beautiful! My boys will love the pool/slide!

Can anyone tell me where in the AAA magazine the ad for Ron Jon is? I just got my magazine this week and can't find it anywhere. I'm in PA so maybe it isn't in our addition... though I see NY and OHIO got it!
Thanks...

I have stayed at the Radisson the night before a cruise and have seen Ron Jons. If your time and convenience is worth anything - pick Ron Jons even if it is twice the price of Radisson. You will have four times the fun. We cycled around the Ron Jons property several times to look around when we stayed in Cocoa Beach for a week this past Christmas. Ron Jon's is the better location - near the water, near Jetty Park, etc. It is also a pretty property. I found Radisson not a good place to spend the day - too far from everything and our suite was dark and a little worn. Ron Jon's looks pretty nice.

My family stayed at the raddison before our cruise last year -- the rooms seemed a bit tired -- but the pool was awful. The pictures look nice & the facility probably would be okay if the sanitation was a priority.

When we went to use the pool -- empty beverage containers & food plates were on just about every table. There were some pretty sloppy folks who used the pool area as well -- glops of food on the side walks, sticky chairs etc...

Not a "Disney" experience by any means -- we vowed that we would not return. I don't think the radisson would be a value even at 1/2 price given the lack of sanitation.

We also took a trip down to coco beach since using the pool lost its luster -- very nice & we made note that the next time we'd try a beach location. Ron Jons looks like where we'll stay this December before our 7 day western cruise.

Tiggerz...you don't really need the magazine to get the discount (if that's why you're asking). I used the code 102 which was given on this board from a Fl Travel magazine and I don't even live near Florida. They didn't care, just gave me the discount for mentioning the code..no questions asked.

Does anyone have a website for Ron Jons??
