My kids both decided that since we've been to both of the other water parks, they wanted to try this on our next trip in August. From what I can tell, this park is closed:confused: Are there any plans to re-open it or is it gone forever?

The park has been closed for almost two years now.

It doesn't look like it's going to reopen, at least not as it was.

You never know, though.

There was a flyer for the water parks in my reservation info packet that I received last week. It describes BB and TL and has pictures of those two parks. The only mention of RC is a line at the bottom that states: Please note that Disney's River Country Water Park will remain closed until further notice.

I think there were some environmental issues with keeping the water from River Country from mingling with the water from the lake.

As I understand it there is a giant inflatable bladder that keeps the water apart. It became a maintenance nightmare to keep repairing the bladder.

The tree huggers would have crucified Disney if they kept dumping chlorinated water into a lake ecosystem.

Plus I think it has a very limited capacity for guests. While TL and BB fill up quickly RC filled up instantly.

that is what is asumed as the realy reason... a lot of other causes like drastic drops in ticket sales and so on with the bladder nightmare as you called it. As to if is going to ever re-open nobody is really sure. They should find a way to make a concrete wall instead of the bladder. However i dont even know if this is possible without draining something... it just kind of came to me so im not saying that this WILL happen just an idea;)
