Is realistic sci fi better than fantastical genres?

Is realistic sci fi better than more fantastical sci fi?

Do viewers prefer more realistic stuff?

It would be nice to see some fantastical far future space adventure that was not Star Wars or Star Trek.

Personally I prefer the fantastical, or even "Science-Fantasy" stuff. Realistic can be good too, but sometimes it's a little dry. I usually like a little more pizzaz in my movies.
