Is Pre-K free in your area??

Like others have stated Georgia pre-K is free. In our county there's a lottery system to determine if your child gets a seat or not. If your child doesn't get a spot in the lottery they go on a waiting list or you can send them to a program that you pay for. DD went from 8-2:30 Mon-Fri if I recall correctly. It was a very good pre-K program and we were quite happy with it.

Oh really???? Our area has about a dozen day care places that are approved for the same free pre-k program that the school system has!! There are I think 10 or 12 Pre-k classrooms run by the school system plus the ones with the day care prek.

No public Pre-K in our town, unfortunately. It's going to cost us a pretty penny to send DD to Pre-K next year - about $4,200 for 12 hours a week! I shopped around and most of the schools are all in the same price bracket. That's just the going rate around here, I guess.

No public pre-K here in southern NH. I spent $2475 for my son to go last year for 9 hours a week!
