Like others have stated Georgia pre-K is free. In our county there's a lottery system to determine if your child gets a seat or not. If your child doesn't get a spot in the lottery they go on a waiting list or you can send them to a program that you pay for. DD went from 8-2:30 Mon-Fri if I recall correctly. It was a very good pre-K program and we were quite happy with it.
for 12 hours a week! I shopped around and most of the schools are all in the same price bracket. That's just the going rate around here, I guess.
