I also plan to tell him what to expect while we wait for each ride (to the best of my ability as I have not been to WDW in 15yrs) and that it is all for fun and not real.
That's a pretty good way. I have also noticed, since Disney themes their queue accordingly, I can usually tell by waiting if my kids will be terrified by a ride or not. My oldest voiced his displeasure in the POTC queue already because he just didn't like the dark, the theme, the pirates.... but he didn't want to chicken out and said he wanted to go. Now he says beforehand he doesn't want to go and I am not pushing the issue. When we try something new I tell him we'll go through the queue and he can decide if he wants to ride or not when we get to the ride. If he decides he doesn't want to ride, I'll take him out of the chicken exit. If I sense he's not liking it before we even get to the ride, we'll leave the queue beforehand. Sometimes I think I just have the biggest wuss on the planet
It also doesn't help that his little brother is a real daredevil.
