Is Pop Warner week really that bad???

I actually did copycat!!! I saw it on the disboards and had to have one!!! I didn't know it would be that big!!!! But I really like it, I'll probably change it in a week or so!!!!

I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go during the Pop warner time again. We went a few years back and stayed at POR and it was terrible. The noise at all times of the night, trash everywhere, etc. was just terrible. we had to call security several times late at night to quiet down the noise from partys in the other rooms around us.

We've been there the same time as Pop Warner the past two Decembers, and this year we changed our dates so we'd miss them. The cheerleaders were out of control irritating -- we spent 20 minutes waiting for Fantasmic listening to them cheer their brains out. I was dying for someone to go over and tell them to UT SHAY UP YAY.

If you plan your trip well, there shouldn't be an issue with dealing with the crowds. If you don't plan prepare to have a crowded and miserable trip. If you're concerned with dealing with crowds I would suggest either ordering UG or TGM so you don't have to deal with high crowds and you'll see less of those teenage punk kids with their damn hip-hop music and their soda parlors.

I have to agree! We have gone during Pop Warner the past 2 years and we love that week! The only problem we experienced at all was with a bunch of rowdy kids on Haunted Mansion - one time! Other than that, we think the week is perfect. We don't stay at the values during that time and we use TGM advice for best days and we alsways have a wonderful time! Even my DH said this last time was the best trip EVER!!!

Some careful planning and you won't even know that it is Pop Warner week (unless you are staying at a value resort which the OP luckily is not!)

The worst part is at the All Star resorts - you shouldn't notice so much, it doesn't effect the parks nearly as much as those resorts.

Is it crowded in the parks during this week? What are the usual wait times on the rides? I hate to go down there that week and have to put up with kids and long lines? I'm just really worried over the crowd level at the parks. I know too that they film the Christmas parade at the MK on certain days and to avoid that park that day. Help!!!

In 2005 we didn't notice them except checking into ASM. We had one night there before our package at the Poly. ASM was overbooked so we were placed in ASMusic. We had no problems at the Music or in the parks. I honestly couldn't even say we saw them. We used TGM.

The trip before we went in July and tour groups from other countries were much more annoying. Constantly chanting and groups of 25+ cutting in line to join up with a few others. My DD (5) will love the cheerleaders. I decided to embrace Pop Warner Week- Good weather, low crowds, beautiful decorations and DS's B-day.

Wow, I didn't think my post was THAT big of a deal. In all honesty, I was trying to be funny. I was trying to sound like a old man yelling at a bunch of kids about they're just a bunch of punks and rant about old time stuff...that's why I mentioned the soda parlors...soda parlors not where the "kids hang out" anymore. Geez...it's bad enough that my joke sucked...but on top of it all no one gets that its a joke?!

We've been to WDW several times during Pop Warner week and haven't found it to have much of an impact on us. The people who have the most problems seem to be those who have had to share a resort, food courts, and buses with the cheerleaders. We generally stay at CBR, so we don't encounter them there. And we came across very few of them in the parks, and then only in very small groups, although, as other have attested, large groups of them certainly do roam the parks at times. We just never ran into any. As long as as you stay at a different resort from the Pop Warner group, your interaction with them is likely to be minimal.
