When planning my trip, I had no idea that I was planning my trip around the same week as Pop Warner week. I read a few past posts and threads and they are all mixed reviews of good and bad.
I usually go during October, so I'm used to pretty large crowds. Waits of over an hour at times.
I am 24 years old and do not like punk kids!!! They annoy me!!!:headache:
Were staying at the Saratoga Springs Resort, so that's far enough away from the All-Stars. Should I change my week or keep it?
I would love to hear everyone's experiences and advice. Thanks!!!:thumbsup2

I stayed at ASMo 2003 when they were there.
They were like swarms of Love Bugs at the hotel, cheering over and over and over, the football players and cheerleaders had there hormones raging.
At the parks it was not bad at all, once in a while you would see them doing their cheers but lines were not bad at all.
I would go the week after they are there but we only we only stay at Value Resorts, you will be far enough away from them.

I've stayed there lots of times same time/place as them. Its not that bad. We saw them alot in am at food courts. Every now & them walking around the hotel, loud cheers, practicing...but I kept going back...but this year we'e staying at POFQ...us like you, should be fine.

After spending numerous weeks at Disney the same time as Pop Warner, I'd say I'd rather beat my head against a concrete block than spend another week in Disney with Pop Warner.

As long as you don't mind the girls cheering in line (think tight enclosed spaces such as SM and POC), the guys running around and occasionally into you, and the chaperones with blank, glazed stares, then you should be OK!

I think your resort will insulate you from the worst of it, which IMO is the after hours noise, and the bus noise.

Oh, and if the words "Ready - OK" don't cause you to break out in hives, you will probably have a good time.

We didn't notice them at all. I would imagine as long as you're not staying at the All-Stars it should be OK.

I don't remember them being disruptive in the parks. The biggest "annoyance" was that one of the parks closed early for a private event. Otherwise I wouldn't have known the difference.

We actually had a lot of fun one day going over to WWoS and watching for a while. They were cute!

We changed our week to a week later this year to avoid Pop Warner. I can't stand to be in the parks with a lot of unsupervised kids.

We were there last year and only saw a few small groups in the parks on one of our 5 days.

Hi all, when is this "pop-warner" week? I didn't see the dates in this thread but I'm heading down on April 1st and staying at ASMo...please don't tell me...

If you plan your trip well, there shouldn't be an issue with dealing with the crowds. If you don't plan prepare to have a crowded and miserable trip. If you're concerned with dealing with crowds I would suggest either ordering UG or TGM so you don't have to deal with high crowds and you'll see less of those teenage punk kids with their damn hip-hop music and their soda parlors.

It didn't bother us and we stayed at All Stars Sports back in 2002. But then again I don't see 5-15 year old kids playing football as "punks"...they are being constructive :)

We were at CBR last Dec. during Pop Warner week and we didn't have any complaints about them. I think if you are not staying at the same resort as they are it makes a huge difference.

I certainly don't mean to speak for the previous poster, but I highly doubt the poster used the word "punks" simply because they play football. It was probably more because of the bad rep they have of loud and crass behavior at both the parks and the resorts. Of course, not all of the Pop Warner kids behave poorly while at WDW, but enough of them do that they have developed this reputation. My best friend's 4 yo dd was knocked down as a group of these kids were cutting in line to get to some others in their group. When her dh said something to them, they unleashed a string of, umm...., colorful words that would make a sailor blush at both him AND their dd. I'm sure it is because of things like that and not the fact that these kids play football, cheer, etc, that the poster used her choice of wording.

I have been there that time of the year seven years. Last year I had to cancel trip due to death in family. I never experienced problems myself when there, however, this past year, '06, I read it was quite bad with the PW folks.

We are often there during the PW events. Actually stayed at ASMusic 3 years ago and some overflow occured to Music. Only impact was on busses and that was manageable.

For 2 years we stayed at the CBR and they kids were there but since we did not use the pool area or get up to go to the food court very early we did not get bothered at all.

At the parks we noticed they were there but they were well behaved and did not bother anyone...they had alot of adults with them to keep them in line.

SheenaXena - COPY CAT!! ;)

I had this in my siggy first. Yours is like way larger than life - did you get it from the AllStars Resort? :rotfl:

As to Pop Warner week, avoid AllStars, Pop Century and Port Orleans Riverside and you will not be affected terribly by it.

I beg to differ with my DH! That trip in 2003 was our first family trip to WDW and we had an absolute blast. We were at the parks from open to close then, so by the time we got back to ASMo we were all so exhausted we just collapsed into bed. That trip was the first of a long line--we'll be taking trips #8, 9, and 10 this year!

I personally wouldn't hesitate to plan a trip again during that week. The weather is pretty nice (although we did have multiple layers and gloves on many mornings!) and the Christmas decorations are great.

Thinking of planning trip for 11/28 - 12/2/07 would this be during Pop Warner Week? Thanks for any info.
