Anyone know if Pete from Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse is in any of the parks?? My son is obsessed (not too sure why?!) We leave in 13 days, woohoo!:cool1:

I have to say no. I have NEVER seen him there, not have ever heard of him being there. I hope to be proven wrong though. We were just there last week and DD kept asking to see him too. They have this show, (Mickey mouse clubhouse) and get these kids into the characters, then don't have them available. It is so terrible. Daisy is my DD's favorite and so hard to find too. We asked and they said you have to be lucky to find her most of the time, but she is left of the hat at Hollywood studios in the mornings. So we fianlly did see her. We got there at opening and were first in line, but we were told that alot of times htey cut the line before she even comes out beucase it gets so long.

Pete is not a walk-around character that I've ever seen. Which irritates me greatly considering his historical importance.

However, his image can be seen in various places in the parks, such as at Pete's Garage in Mickey's Toontown Fair. So at least he's not being completely ignored. :thumbsup2

You're absolutely right. Pete was in Steamboat Willie AND Gallopin' Gaucho! it is odd that he has never been in the parks.

You said it. And have you seen the "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" merchandise that the Disney Store sells? The tagline they use is "Before there was Mickey...there was Oswald." Well, before there was Oswald, there was Pete!

Pete made his first appearance in 1925 in one of Walt's early Alice Comedies, then was carried over into the Oswald cartoons before appearing in the Mickey cartoons. He's the oldest Disney character still in use!

Nope, never seen him or ever heard about him being at the parks. Maybe itll one day change?

What animal is Pete? Is he a Cat and that is why he is always after "Mickey The Mouse"?

Isn't he from the old animated shorts? I have never seen him as a character, but there is reference to him in the parks as well as a big statue of him in the WoD in NYC.

pete's been a few different things over the year. he's more or less a cat nowadays.

he does have a garage in toontown. that's where the restrooms are (but the key is inside the gas pump)

I was actually going to post this in a new thread today. I guess great minds think alike.
We were watching Goof Toop yesterday and it got me thinking that as well. I think on Goof Troop he is portayed as a dog. I think all of them are dogs in that town? Sometimes Pete's wife grabs his ear, and it is hidden normally, but when she pulls on it, it is long (like Goofy's). So I am assuming he is a dog. But I owuld actually think he is more of a bull dog if he is one, and wouldn't need a long ear. And then I was wondering why he, or Goofy don't have tails? Yet Pluto does, and Pluto acts like a dog and Goofy doesn't.

So I happen to have the Disney Encyclopedia next to me (edited by Dave Smith, the Disney Archive Guru) when I'm reading this thread. He describes Pete

"Also known as Peg Leg Pete and Black Pete, this gruff, cat-like character appeared first in the Alice comedies in 1925, but soon became known as Mickey Mouse's and later Donald Duck's primary nemesis. Since Steamboat Willie, Peter appeared in 31 cartoons. In the earliest cartoons, he had a peg leg, but that was dispensed with in his later appearances when the animators found it too hard to handle in the stories."

So, I guess that makes him a cat!
