Is this place a just a bar or would it be OK to take my sons 12 & 15? I can get a 1/2 price GC for dinner but am looking for a restaurant atmosphere.

Thanks to anyone who can answer!

I remember someone posting this same question a few days ago.

Pat O'Brien's is broken up into 3 different sections: the piano bar, the bar across from the piano bar, and the outside section which is cool. The outside section would be the best place to enjoy dinner with your kids. The food and service are good, and the atmosphere is great too.

Hopefully, this will help also:

This is not a restaurant..it is a bar in every sense of the word.

While all the food we have had there has been very good...if you are eating lunch..ok...a very early dinner..ok..after that, the kids won't be allowed in anyway. No one under 21 allowed in the city walk bars in the evening.

We ate an early dinner with DS8 and DS10. We sat outside, and it was fine. There are so many other places though, which they might enjoy more. If you have not tried NBA Cafe or City, (I've forgotten which is correct,) that would be a good place. The service and food are very good. I don't know if they have the G.C.'s though.

When I was in the bar in the evening in October there were alot of kids in the piano bar. I thought it was strange.

Kids are allowed in Pats until 9pm and yes its ok for kids good atmosphere and good food:jester:

Hmmm...I think we'll pass on this one. The only reason we would go would be because of the 1/2 price GC. We already have Nascar, Kitchen and Pastamore. Thanks for all the info.

The ones in Nawlins are fantastic, so I'd bet they are just as good at CityWalk. After all, it's hard to find fault with 1:1 proportioning of Pat O'Brien's Hurricane Mix and dark rum in a glass filled with crushed ice and garnished with a slice of orange and a cherry.

Geez, I'm thirsty!:drinking1

I bought one 1/2 price GC and was wondering about the Kid issue in Bar as well, oviously I haven't thought too deeply before I purchased the GC. I'm going in June and I'll have 13 and 16 years old teens with me. I'll have fun time explain this situation to my DH when we get to Pat's.
