Is Parent Swap possible?

I've never done child swap, but this is something different. I want to take my two oldest kids (5 and 7) on Soarin', but the youngest, age 1, can't ride. My husband was going to wait with him while we ride, but I'm concerned they will be stuck waiting a long time. We don't have fast passes and were going to go at rope drop. My husband is in a wheelchair so he would be waiting with my son while he sits in his stroller. We've done this in the past, but I think ds might get cranky if he's sitting there for 45+ minutes. Could my husband wait in line while I sit with the baby and then we switch when they are ready to ride? This is probably impossible, but I thought I would ask. DH can't ride Soarin' because he is unable to transfer. Any other thoughts/ideas?

Can't you all wait in line together and they just go through to the exit when you queue to board?

I had read elsewhere that the CMs won't let my 1 year old in the line since he isn't old enough to ride the ride. It would be nice to hear from someone who has worked at Disney to find out if there are any exceptions to this.

The CMs will not allow anyone too short to ride in the line. They measure at the entrance. (And again before the ride.) There is no exception as this is for safety.

I don't know when you are going, but I would keep trying for FP. I was just able to get one for this weekend.

While hubby took our older 2 on Soarin, I waited with our little one and while we waited I took him on Living With The Land ride in the same building. Would your hubby be able to do that? Much easier than waiting.

I do not think there is a way for your husband to switch with you when they get to ride as you enter and leave by different doors and plus you can not see when they get to door. they will not allow little one in line because of height requirement. it is going to be hard for husband to entertain for the little one, plus unless your stroller in tagged as a wheelchair it will not be allowed in building so husband will have to hold or chase your toddler

That's a good point. I forgot that strollers aren't allowed in the building. There is no way that my son will sit in dad's lap for 45 minutes. I had read that even if I had a FP that the wait plus ride time will still be about that long. My hubby isn't physically able to lift our son so riding another ride isn't an option. Our son would have to be in the stroller or with me.

You could ride with each older child separately and leave the other with dad to help manage the baby. You should still be able to get a rider swap pass since the baby is too small to ride. Perhaps the older child who isn't riding can push the youngest around in the stroller outside while dad supervises?

You don't have to ride back to back, you can come back at any time with the rider swap pass. So, whole family enters the land and presents themselves to CM and gets rider swap pass. Mom and 5 year old ride while dad and 7 year old take baby on a walk. Mom and 7 year old return later in the day to ride with rider swap pass, perhaps during baby's nap?
