I was thinking of booking Palo on formal night to avoid having to pack all of that formal clothing, but then I started to wonder if Palo is formal on that night as well or is it the same dress code there every night?
TIA

The dress code for Palo is the same every night and it is formal dress. For men they request jackets or a button-down shirt and tie, for the ladies they request dresses or pantsuits. The times we have gone, most men are in suits and ladies are in cocktail dresses or dressy pants, tops and shoes. If you only want to pack formal wear for one night then it makes sense to book Palo the same night. Enjoy!

I thought I recently read that they changed the dress code for Palo and that it was a little more casual. Can anyone verify?

I think you're thinking of the other restaurants:

DRESS POLICY CHANGE

Jeans are now acceptable attire under the revised "Cruise Casual" dress policy. It is still requested that guests do not wear shorts, swimwear or tank tops to the dining rooms.

The attire is determined by the day, not the restaurant with the exception of Palo. The seven night cruise has a formal night, semi-formal night, pirate/tropical night and four "Cruise Casual" nights.

On the 3 and 4 day cruises there is one night where "dress-up" attire is requested. Men are asked to wear a jacket while ladies are asked to wear either a dress or nice pantsuit.

The following is from one of our old Navigators:

Palo (Dress: Jacket Recommended, Dress Shirt Required - No Shorts or Jeans Please).

Disney Cruise Line® has altered its dress code, and now requires that gentlemen wear a dress shirt when dining at Palo. A jacket (or tie) is still suggested but not required. Gentlemen wearing t-shirts, golf shirts, Tommy Bahamas type shirts, etc. will be turned away.

I can say that on our last cruise, there were two young men turned away from Palo. They were wearing Tommy Bahama style shirts and the Maitre 'd told them they needed to go get a jacket.

They have relaxed the dress code at Palo. It now states, either jacket or dress shirt required. Check out the new Navigators posted on Deb's site (www.allearsnet.com). The Navigators also on formal night also list this same dress code for Palo's, so there is no need to dress formally on Formal Night in Palo. DH and I booked Palo on Semi-Formal night for this exact reason and will be eating in Topsiders on Formal Night.

Palo's dress coad has definately lightened up a bit. Tie is definately not required. Dress slacks and dress shirt are required. Dress/pant suit for women.
