Is one week worth it?

One week is better than none! If you stay onsite and just do Disney you will get to see alot of it, just dont bother trying to do anything else like Universal.

Hi

I took DD away for a week in early Dec, staying at ASMo's...managed to do MK, MGM, AK & EP, we gave the water parks a miss though, decided to go shopping instead.
The weather was lovely, would do it again.
A week was just right for us as we were away from the rest of the family...:)

Happy Planning

My first and only trip until next year was for a week. I hadn't found this or any of the other forums/boards at the time and didn't realise the planning that was needed but we enjoyed what we did. We went to MGM, Epcot and both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and we still had time to shop and go to DTD.

Cost wasn't the issue - infact we could have gone for 2 weeks cheaper then the 1 but I didn't want to take the kids out of school so stuck to the one week for February half term. Can't wait to go back!

Yes, we also did a week the first time we went. Didn't want to take the kids out of school for too long, and as I'm an IT contractor I couldn't afford two weeks not working. Still cost less than a week in Portugal the previous summer though.

We didn't do Universal at all -- got a 5-day hopper plus and did AK, MK, MGM and Blizzard Beach. Went back this year (for two weeks) and used the remaining days on the park hopper (MK, Epcot, DTD PI and a round of minigolf) and also did US, IoA, SW (twice) and WaW.

We're hoping to go for a week in October but we've accepted that we couldn't do everything we'd cram into a fortnight. We've decided that we're not doing SeaWorld, Kennedy, Universal or anything that isn't Disney. We figured that we'll be going for a fortnight next year (fingers crossed) and it's far cheaper to simply add a few extra days to a Disney pass (increase from 5 - 7 for example) than pay for a Universal pass too. Of course, I'm like Andy - I'd go for a weekend just to be there!!!

My first trip to Orlando was for 1 week and this included indirect flights (which were slightly longer but no real hassle at all - connecting flights were well organised). This was an excellent taster trip. It allowed us to get a feel for the ropes !
We did Sea World, Magic Kingdom twice (kids were very young) and MGM studios, plus a fair bit of shopping. I don't really remember it being in any way too short considering the first and the last day of any weeks' holiday is spent travelling (or waiting to travel). You would probably need at least 6 weeks to do everything on offer in and around Orlando in any case. I would definitely recommend a week - especially if it is a first trip..but just don't try and do too much or you will need a holiday when you get home ! :hyper:
