I have always wanted to check out OKW to decide if we would like stay there, so I made a ressie at Olivia's for my trip this week. I thought the menu looked terrific. A friend at work compared the food to diner food.

Anyone have an opinion or pics of Olivia's?

I never rely on other people's opinion for anything at WDW. We like Olivia's, and so do a lot of others......try it, you'll probably like it...JMHO :cool1: :cheer2:

We went to Olivia's for the first time last August. My DH is very picky about what he eats. What I mean is that he likes real food, not just something that is thrown together or processed. For instance he refuses to eat in restaurants such as the Olive Garden. He had nothing bad to say about Olivia's he really liked their food and was very pleased. Trust me he is very hard to please when it comes to food. Go ahead and enjoy yourself. If they offer the grilled cheese tomato soup go for it.

I have only read good reviews of Olivias. I think this was the first negative experience I have ever seen. (Although Olivias doesn't get talked about much.) I am going to try to eat there this trip since we are staying at OKW.

We ate there a couple of years ago and while the food was good, the service was horrible. It wasn't busy but our server was nowhere to be found most of the time. We will probably try it again sometime but there are other places we enjoy more.

We stayed at OKW last year for the first time. I had read rave reviews on these boards about Olivias saying it was the best kept secret on Disney property. It was ok not bad but did not think it was anything great as I had read. If you are at OKW anyway try it, I don't think it's worth a trip just for Olivias.

I can attest that the chef was really wonderful with a friend who has multiple allergies. He came to the table and talked with her about what she could eat and how it should be prepared. He told her to bring her favorite recipe on the next trip and he would fix it for her--and to "not worry about the cost, he would make her happy."

That said, we usually do Olivia's when we are rather tired and just want "something." We've never had a bad experience.

:thumbsup2 We ate at Olivia's for the first time last year and really liked it! The atmosphere was light and airy.....reminded us of the shore! The food was good. We're going there, again, this Spring!!

We stayed at OKW a few years ago and had their character breakfast. Since the place is not very large, the characters spent a lot of time at each table. I don't remember the food being bad, so it must have been good.

We had an ok time at a character breakfast a few years back. DH went alone there while on business last year for dinner to check it our for our future vacations and had a rotten experience there. Rude, negligent service and mediocre food. He said it was his least favorite WDW experience ever.

Can't help with dinner, but breakfast and lunch there are just fine!!
I agree with Uncle "R." We have had breakfast and lunch there several times and have never been disappointed. Enjoy! :)

Breakfast and lunch are wonderful. Dinner, is OK, it really depends on your server. Last time we were there (December) there were a lot of trainee servers at dinner...not the greatest.

While I don't care for their signature conch chowder, most of their daily soups are outstanding. And my dislike of the chowder is that it is a tomato based chowder, so if you like tomato based chowders you may enjoy it.

On a side note, Olivia's no longer has any character breakfasts. They used to be on Wednesdays and for awhile also on Sundays. They were discontinued a couple of years ago.

Olivia's is one of my favorite restaurants. (And that is not just because we are OKW members) Try the Conch Chowder (a bit spicy) and the Brownie Sundae! :goodvibes

I have eaten here too and I really liked it. It is was not busy at all when we were there and we didn't take the kids with us that night so it was a nice quiet pleasant evening just DH and I.. It was almost too quiet without them screaming..hahaha I would recommend going there!!

Well, I made the original post and now I can answer my own question. We just got back form WDW this AM and we absolutely loved dinner at Olivia's! The food and service were excellent. We ate outside on the patio, so we were not affected by the noise level inside. Will tell more in my trip report tonight.

I'm glad to hear it. I need to add 1 more ADR & also wanted to take a look at OKW for our next trip. Did you happen to order the wings? I'm was wondering what kind of sauce they use.

We didn't but the table next to us ordered them and they looked fantastic. We had the shrimp dip w/ tomato basil chips andthe crabcakes as apps. They were both excellent.

We were really impressed with the layout of OKW. We will probably rent some DVC points and stay there for our next trip.

Glad to hear you liked Olivia's. We like it too, especially the conch chowder! :thumbsup2
