im going to old key west in august so i was wondering what it is like there any good tips??

Oh! It's Wonderful! It's one of my favorite hotels! its very roomy? Tips? uhmm... are you renting a car when you go? cause depending on where your room is, the bus stations are quite a walk sometimes.

i love it there!
i stay there just about every time and its great!
but some bus stops are very far and depending on where u stay the hospitality house can be quite a walk too. but i love it there! :)

me and my family love[d] the Old Key West. weve stayed there about 3 time. the last time we stayed there.. mayb 2006/2007 [[idr]] we were only there for one night and moved to SSR. the problem was the room was gross. the rooms werent clean, and to top it off, [[in the room me and my sister were sharing]] there was a huge roach on the floor. that just put us over the edge. so we swithced b.c my mom wouldnt b able to stay there knowing our room was possibly infested lol. over all, that resort is BEAUTIFUL! i think we would stay there again, but we hadda take a break lol.

kinda off topic but in 18 days were going to disney and staying @ the poly! :goofy: has anyone ever stayed there? and if so how was it? its our first time nd we r so excited!

I've only stayed there once and it was a decent experience overall. The bad part was mostly just really bad luck. One of the main water switch valvy things broke and so they had to shut down water to our building. They had to test run the water in either our room or the room above us (we were the only ones that could be "tests" and the room above us had 3 young kids already sleeping, so we volunteered), but the water came out sludgy (silt that got in while they replaced the valve) and got all over everything. We didn't have clean water for 6 hours and when we did, the sludge had clogged all the faucets and the showerhead. We had to shower at the pool because they actually broke the showerhead (the pipe) when they tried to replace it, so you couldn't use the shower. But they credited our room $100, so we ate very well that night at Le Cellier on Disney.

But the rooms were very spacious. We were right near Hospitality House (behind it, really...across the lake/canal and road). We were also right next to a bus stop.

Okay... i love Old Key West. I've stayed there soo many times. I'm only 13 & i've been staying at that resort for my whole life. My mom & dad bought a DVS Membership there, just because we love it so much. But it can also depend on what kind of atmosphere you like.OKW is like a Key West/Tropical theme. I personally love it the best. For instance, Wilderness Lodge has a country/outdoors-e atmosphere.(I've never been there before though, lol). Also Saratoga Springs, which i stayed there once before is like an up-state New York atmosphere which mainly foci on horses & horse racings. I,personally, did not like SS. Not my type of theme. I will always love OKW. I promise you will love love love it. Belive me. I've been there so many times,i could walk anywhere in that resort & know where I am. Lmfaooo (:
