Is Ohana worth it?

My husband asked if I wanted to try Ohana on our next visit. I looked at the menu, and the food looks like it might be good. However, it seemed expensive compared to some of the other dinner buffets we went to on our 2014 trip. Is Ohana dinner worth the money?

Sure is...But depends if you have big eaters really...

We love it, and it usually is the meal to kick off our vacay....Being that we hit MK 1st day, or night...

Sadly the family wants to try something different, but we're kinda excited to try either the CG, The Wave, or Narcoosee.

we went last May and then tried to get another reservation that same week...we didnt make it back..but yes it was good..we are going again in 30 days

We ate at The Wave and CG on our last trip and enjoyed them both (especially CG).
We're having trouble deciding how much to eat at places we've enjoyed before, and how much we should try new places. There are only so many meals in a one week trip, and so many good options.

Yes , it is good. Children will love it too. However, don't accept a late reservation(9pm). There are issues with running out of food, cold food and poor service. We were not the only ones affected. There is another thread about Ohana and late reservations.

Absolutely worth it. It is not a buffet - the food is brought to the table and it is always fresh each time we ate there. We eat there every time we go to DW. One of our favorite restaurants.

If you like Asian food and grilled meats and seafood, it is really good.

Worth is subjective. We used to always go there for dinner, and my family always loved it. I think it's "okay". Last AUgust it was terrible, so be aware that it is not always consistant. Also, I agree that you have to know that they are notorious for falling behind schedule, and that if you have a late ADR, you may be seated REALLY late. This is not a restaurant that as you progress intot the later evening hours the backup clears up....it just continues to build.

Odd, We went in August, and we seemed to have our best experience....We've always had great servers, but Rosa was on her game AGAIN that trip!!...We sat right in the middle 1st table from the fire pit area.... Love this place... Once again anyplace can have off days of course, but out of the 8 or 9 times eaten here, we've never experienced it.:confused3

Great place to eat. Breakfast and dinner have good food. We eat there every trip.

Ohana's Character Breakfast is good. As far as for the other meals go, Ohana's is nothing more than a Golden Corral, except about 4 times the cost. Is it worth it food quality wise? No. As far is price, you're at Disney, all food is expensive.

I must be in the minority here, but our last trip to Ohana this past September was less than pleasant. We arrived right at opening time and got seated right away. It went downhill from there. The steak was either way overcooked or rare and the chicken must have been all dark thigh meat, grizzly and tough. We pretty much just ate the bread, chicken wings, noodles, and dessert. Service was slow and not very attentive as we asked for some better cooked meat and never got it. We left somewhat hungry, which allegedly at Ohana you should never do. Probably won't go back again.

again...subjective.... we went once. It was.... alright. For some reason none of us enjoyed the experience..... The food was ok, but we don't need to go back

We really enjoyed it and it's on the list for our next visit. My girls still talk about the bread pudding. I could have made a meal from just the sides.

Couldn't disagree more with this statement. Admittedly taste is very subjective, but comparing 'Ohana to Golden Corral? That is very much a stretch IMO. The food is generally very good (although I have been there on an off night once or twice). The atmosphere and entertainment are what truly set it apart from other restaurants. There is a reason it is consistently a very difficult reservation to get at WDW. It's immense popularity is no coincidence. Disney could easily charge more for this restaurant and people would still go. Let's hope they don't though! lol

IMO, no. We've never waited less than 45 minutes to be seated and I found the food served at dinner to be below average. Breakfast food was better than dinner but wait was the same.

Fooled me twice and never again.

I enjoy a good joke at the expense of Disney food, but that analogy doesn't even make sense. Golden Corral is a buffet. :rotfl:
