Is my hubby crazy? Or am I wrong?

We booked to be in WDW the first 5 days of Sept. That would mean we would be there from Monday until Friday. My husband wants to be there instead from Friday until Tuesday. I thought my plan was better because I think the parks would be less crowded so the lines would be more managable and easier on our 2 little ones who will be 15 months and almost 3 when we go. My husband thinks it will still be slow if we are there through a weekend because it's low season and the lines and crowds still managable.
I think it isn't our best option. I would prefer to be there when crowds would be at there lowest to make the wait easier on the kids and in the end on me too! Thanks!

Going the first five days of September puts you into Labor Day weekend. Because of that, I am thinking the Friday to Tuesday (you are talking the weekend AFTER Labor Day at that point, right?) Might be better. I am thinking crowds may be kind of high Labor Day weekend. :scared1:

I was thinking the same thing, we are going the 9-17 this year and last year we were there the 11-18 and the lines were IMO basically light not long lines and some were walk on :cool1: :cool1: we also planned on not going in the parks on the weekend as the crowds are heavy and don't forget the MNSSHP is i beleive on the fridays of that month so that also causes alot of people to come we go wed to wed that way we get the crowded and less crowded :) good luck in your planning and YAY for FREE DINING:banana:  :cool1:

IMHO I believe weekends are less crowded because most people are checking in/out those days and not going to the parks. JMHO

I prefer to be there during the week as the weekends seem to get busy (perhaps with more "locals"), but you have to consider the Labor Day holiday - that will change the crowds a bit. Why not check on one of the touring plan sites for a crowd calendar? Or give your exact dates here and someone will, I'm sure, check for you.

I looked it up on UG crowd calendar. It seems like a good time to go, and there is not that much difference. With 10 being the most crowded, Sept. 1-5 is ranked 5,5,4,6,4.

I am assuming you meant the Friday - Tuesday after Labor Day and that is ranked 5,4,4,5,4. So it seems to historically be a bit less crowded, but not by much.

Now, if you were thinking over Labor Day weekend it is 5,6,6,5,5.

When we usually go it is 6-8. I don't think the 6 is bad at all. I have actually never been in a park on a Saturday, but I have always heard here to avoid MK on Saturdays.

Good luck deciding!!

don't forget as well that Night of Joy is scheduled for the weekend of 9/5,
so you may want to take that into consideration as well as it could affect attendance.

Thank-you very much for looking that up for me. We are going to stick with being there from Sept 1-5. Yipee!!

One other considering factor - weekends are more expensive. I know with DVC points they can be up to double the price of a weekday night.
