Is my dress "going overboard"??

So, I ordered my gown last week (with a whole year and 3 months before the wedding!), with full intentions of having an all-out custom wedding at Disney with about 60-70 guests. My fiance and I sat down and decided that we really would like to switch to an Intimate (since the budget is limited, and our custom was getting outrageous - we would like to have simple "party" reception for everyone when we get back to Michigan). I absolutely love the gown, but it seems like it might be "too much" for a simple intimate wedding with 18 guests. There really isn't much I can do now, since we already put down a deposit, but I guess I'm looking for any opinions on what I could do...
This is my gown...

That dress is gorgeous. And no its not overboard. Its your wedding you need to feel like a Princess. You look beautiful

I think it's a beautiful dress, and not overboard at all!

Glad to see another Michigan Disney bride to be :thumbsup2

Your gown is BEAUTIFUL and it looks great on you! I don't think you should worry about "going overboard" by wearing it. No matter how big or small your wedding is; it's your day to feel, look like and be a princess:! Go for it!!

I'd wear it...it's your SPECIAL day, with pictures and all, look like the princess you are!!!!!!!!!

I think the gown is beautiful, and you look great. I'm in the same sort of situation. My fiance and I have been planning a custom wedding in June 2007. However, now it looks as if the money isn't there. I've already purchased a very formal gown, and we will probably do an Intimate. Good luck with the plans!

:goodvibes Aww thanks everyone! You guys are the best. I'm so glad I found this board, it would be really stressful to plan without everyones support. I felt like such a princess in that dress...now I'm really excited to wear it! princess:

What is the brand of your dress? I love it!!! I want to see if I can get it where I live...Thanks

I don't understand the connection between the dress and the size of the wedding. Your dress is *beautiful*! Wear it with pride!

Gorgeous dress! Of course wear it! We too are now considering cutting back to an intimate, although I really don't want to cut the guest list down that much! :-(

You look soooooo beautiful in it!!! Wear it!!! Plus...you are marrying your HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART!!!!!! Not many people get to say that....so wear it and take his breath away!!!!

the dress is absolutely stunning, and you look beautiful in it - you HAVE to have it!!!!!!!

I think you should wear the dress of your dreams, no matter what, otherwise you might regret it later.

We are having a vow renewal at Disney. I'll be 40 and my dress is very princess-like but I don't worry if it will be suitable (it'll be just the 2 of us) as I want to feel like a princess princess: again - so I'm wearing it (with pride!).

Your dress is gorgeous! :bride: I'd wear that even if it were just me and my DF attending. Its beautiful! Go for it! :thumbsup2

I think it is perfect! You look beautiful. Not overboard at all, Disney weddings are suppose to be fairytale-like!

I agreeit's a beautiful gown and do not let anyone (other than the groom) try to change your dream wedding. Wedding's used to be about tradition, not any more. Especially at WDW, it's about your dreams come true! Congrats on the gorgeous gown!!!

It's gorgeous!!! If you were getting married on a beach - I *might* be inclined to say it's too much - but even then, your day, you get to pick! :-)

That dress is drop dead gorgeous! Wear it, its the only time you'll get to wear something so magnificent. :thumbsup2

The dress is beautiful and you will be beautiful in it - wear it for sure!

I thought the same thing for our Intimate with 8 guests. I thought I just wanted a simple dress, but I ended up with my dream gown - beaded bodice with a semi-cathedral train - so I think I know why you are questioning it and how you feel. But it was my wedding day and that day deserved that gown :goodvibes and yours will to!
