Is my daughter an adult or child?

We are visiting Florida in August and will be purchasing the tickets for WDW that give us 21 days access to all the parks. My daughter will be 10 whilst we are out there. Do I buy her an adult ticket or a childs ticket? Would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
EvertonCJ

I am pretty sure that if your daughter is 9 years on the first day you use the ticket then its fine to get a childs ticket.
Basically whatever age she is on the first day of use is the age she stays for the whole 21 days. :)

;) I think it may depend on your personal choice and how long you need a ticket for, officially she will need an adult ticket once she's ten, same as the restaurant price tariffs change once she's ten though not sure if this is for TS only. That said you can get a good price for tickets at the moment due to the great exchange rate.I think someone else will be along shortly to give you better info :teeth: :teeth:You might get away with a kid's ticket if she is not that tall for her age :confused3

::yes:: Child. Definately

My Daughter is just 10 and in the eyes of WDW is an Adult! She is happy re the DDP food but the ticket cost?

Next year she is a Adult on Virgin.

Yes agree that a child is fine, same applies to annual passes if on the first visit aged 9 buy a child pass if by second visit within the year the child turns 10 then Disney will turn it into an adult pass for the remainder of the validity free of charge.

Claire ;)

We are buying new AP's for our Christmas trip and as DS is still 9 he will be geting a childs ticket. When we go back in the summer he will be 10 so I will get an upgrade to an adult ticket.

My daugther will be an "Adult" the next time we go Virgin as she'll be 12. Her and her 10yr old brother will be "Adults" in the eyes of the theme parks.

A quote I heard the other day was:

A father is a man with a picture in his wallet where money used to be

That's certainly true when taking your kids to Florida!

We actually asked about this over there. You buy the appropriate ticket for the age on the day of purchase. So if your child has their birthday even the next day - you get away with a child price.

Buy the child ticket.

I have seen it written somewhere in an FAQ (but can't find it now) that you buy the ticket for the age the child will be on the first day of use. Also it mentioned that if the ticket had the non expiry option the ticket would still be honour if used several years later by the child. If fact I think it said Disney would upgrade it to an adult ticket for the remaining days free of charge if required.

Really bugging me now because I can't find this quote.

we have been when an child changes to an addult as long as you have used it when she was classed as a child .You then can change it for no extra chargef or an adult one at guest services. This also aplys if you had a ticket bought for a child from a previos year and thery have chaged into an addult in disneys eyes,we have done both. They will always be a child in your eyes even when they have kids of there own

Thank you for all your helpful advice. My daughter will only be 9 when we first visit the parks so I will definitely be purchasing a childs ticket for her.
Best Wishes
