Is MS CM wrong?

I called MS yesterday and asked about buying an Incredi-pass, not the Sorcerer Pass.
He stated I was only allowed to buy the Sorcerer Pass, because I'm a DVC member.
I told him ok, but I only wanted the Incredi-Pass. He kept telling me nope, no.
So was he wrong??? Or should I just wait until my trip at the end of September and buy it then?

He was definitely wrong. Incredipass is the one pass that everyone can buy. But maybe MS can only sell you the Sorcerer Pass through them and the Incredipass is either online or through the main Disney World phone line, not DVC? So that’s why he said you can only buy Sorcerer pass? I’d wait until your trip to buy it anyway so it expires a bit later but that’s totally up to you, a month isn’t that big of a difference!

I'm not sure of the conversation you had with MS, but if you're not buying a Sorcerer Pass as a DVC member, and you want the Incredi-Pass - why not go to the DisneyWorld site and purchase it there? DVC wouldn't really have anything to do with that. Although I'm surprised they weren't more help to you.

If you're going in September, I'd prefer to have it (the certificate in my account) before the trip so I could make any necessary park reservations and be prepared for any LL purchases/reservations I might want to make.

Ahh yes that’s a good reason to buy a bit ahead, I forgot about the early LL registrations and such!
The expiration date isn't set until the first park is entered to activate it - not the purchase date.
Yep, forgot this as well 🤦🏼‍♀️ good points all around

Sorry, my fault. I called ticketing(407-939-5277) first to get the AP. I was asked if I was a DVC member, I said yes, CM said I had to call MS. What a run around 😮‍💨

Since the Incredi-Pass is available to everyone for the same price, just purchase it online from DisneyWorld.com.

You can also buy the Sorcerer Pass from DisneyWorld.com as long as you DVC affiliation is linked to your MDE profile.

DVC Members must call MS to renew the Sorcerer Pass or it can be done in person at WDW. Only FL Residents can renew that pass online.

My guess is the CM was confusing thst you have to buy the Sorcerer Pass through them as they don’t sell the Incredi pass because those are available to everyone.

Yes. I’d go ahead and buy it. It will be activated on the first day you enter the park, so expires one year after that date not one year after the date of purchase. Time on vacay is too precious to waste in line.

So unless you are worried about not making the trip at all, I’d go ahead with purchase. Even then if a voucher isn’t used within one year, it reverts to the cash value toward a new ticket.

There’s no reason to buy an incredipass through MS as there is no longer any type of DVC discount. You can just buy it straight from the WDW website or by calling ticketing.

The pass expires 1 year from first use, not 1 year from purchase. Importantly, prices can and do increase all the time, so if he knows for sure he wants it, I’d buy it now.
