Is May a good time to go?

HI Looking at going DW in May 2015 what are the best dates around this time, could possibly go in June if better?

Yes! May can be a lovely time to go. We went from May 17-24. The crowds were around a 3-4 level but you can check easywdw.com for the May 2015 calendar (if it's up yet).

It's the best time to go right after Spring Break. We stayed at CBR. The resort wasn't near crowded, the weather was beautiful, & the Parks didn't feel like level 3 or 4. We really were happy with May.

i love going in early/mid-may.

love bugs are the only potential downside - and they are more of a nuisance than anything else.

We are also going in May 2015! We are going early in the month so from everything I've read and heard it should be a great time! Our first trip we did in mid June and it was so hot and crowded!

does the weather change that drastically in a couple of weeks? Should late may be better then mid june? I don't want to waste 5K on a trip an be miserable!

I was there May 13th to the 26th this year and loved it. Caught the end of F&G Festival and picked up a few heavily reduced in price souvenirs to boot, Mardi Gras is still on at US, then you have the Star Wars weekends. The weather was fantastic, only rained on my first day and on the way to the airport, although there was one thunderstorm my last full day at Epcot on the 25th, but, it seemed to bother very few people, including me, apart from that it was roasting hot with little humidity, perfect. The crowds in the parks were moderate. I loved it so much I'm planning the same dates for next year.

I went the second weekend of May this year and loved it! I think it's a great time to go. It wasn't humid, and crowds were fairly low. I also enjoyed going to F&G at Epcot. Next year, I'm planning on going the first weekend.

We've been the past two years the week after Mother's Day. VERY NICE. F & G Festival and this year, we got to attend the first day of Star Wars Weekend at DHS and WOW! So fun!

Great weather, crowds not bad at all, and for the first time we used FP+ and MagicBands (some call them TRAGICbands...LOL) which we thought were FAB.

Enjoy!

We went May of this year. Going at the beginning is good because you can still catch the Flower and Garden show at Epcot and can stay away from the crowds at Hollywood Studios before SWW begin. Unless you want to go to that event. Later in the month should be okay, if before Memorial Day, as long as you avoid HS on weekends if you don't want to deal with the crowds. The weather was nice and it did not rain at all while we were there (we got lucky!)

We went in 2009 and it was unusually hot (100+) with 100% humidity!! We were miserable but we also live in So Cal which is very dry, the temp I can deal with, the humidity was too much. I was sick the first couple of days we were there but it got better!

Is there any overlap between F&G and SWW? My sister mentioned a possible long weekend trip in the spring. I'd like to catch both if we can.

Been in late May 3 times previously. This year we went in early May. I honestly did not think there was a difference in crowds or weather.

This is good to know. I always thought people were crazy going May-August. But now that my kids are older, I am finding out I have to go during this time. So worried we are going to be miserable, but we are willing to take the chance!

May is good. The earlier you can go in the month, the better. As the month goes on, more and more colleges and schools are out. The crowds really ramp up once Memorial Day weekend hits.

I wonder if Disney will do the 24 hour event again next Memorial Day weekend?! Does anyone remember how far in advance they released that info this year?

Early May is a fabulous time to go! The crowds for us have always been low, many rides are walk ons and the weather hasn't gotten too hot yet!

We went this year over Memorial day weekend so we could catch the 24hr event, and even though I would do it again, I wouldn't recommend it if you can do earlier May. Crowds were definitely heavier and it was far hotter!

You can catch a lot of things in May by going early and extending into the second weekend or so, the flower & garden festival is in swing, and SWW begin mid May!

I can only speak about the first couple of weeks of May (in late 90's) but as I recall it was a fantastic time to go. It was pretty warm but not scorching hot. Crowds were good, not overwhelming at all. I wouldn't hesitate to go in May again but these days the Fall seems to work best.

We went this May for a few days and it was great! Good weather, no rain, decent crowds. The longest wait for a ride we had was 35 mins for Winnie the Pooh.
