Not trying to start a debate but I'm starting to think that per capita Massachusetts seems to have more Disers than any other state (except FL). My question is why the heck do we live here? Have you looked outside?

Because when you have the Red Sox, you need something else to believe in :)

I left there 22 years ago. Back then(maybe still) they did not stop you at the border. Although there was a time when the SP took pictures of Mass. plates parked at NH liquor stores on weekends.
;)

Come this time of year we always say that. Why do we live here? But I guess summer makes up for it. We wouldn't want to be in central Florida in August. Besides the fact that to much Disney might take away the magic. lol

Whenever I spoke to someone down there, it seems they were from the New England area. Trying to talk my wife into moving down there ;-)

BAH HA HA HA :rotfl:

I think fall makes up for the winter. Its nice around here when it starts to get cool.
Oh and no other stay has the Cape :)

Don't pick on my Red Sox! LOL! (But you may have something there!)

I just wanted to chime in as a fellow Massachusetts resident.

Yay MA! Yay WDW!

And now with JetBlue flying out of Logan, we have more low-price options for travel to the World!

Notice gometros did not mention anything about football!!!!!! GO PATS!!!!!! How are the Jets, Bills and Giants doing this season?

We always run into Bay Staters in Disney World!

Florida should be considered "Southern Massachusetts" given where people have moved from.

ROCK ON IN THE BAY STATE!!!! I often ask myself why I stay in MA with the wonderful winter weather we have. I think that the autumn in Massachusetts more than makes up for it.

True New England Girl here! I have family that live in FL, they always ask me why I don't move down there. I love it here! Snow, cold..... I wouldn't trade it for anything.

FL is our vacation destination.

We're here because we enjoy being near the mountains AND the beautiful Cape - it's the best of both worlds. Yes, it's cold in winter but we get to experience every season in its full glory. Throw in the history and culture, some of the best schools in the country, the most rabid sports fans around and a pretty healthy economy (all things considered) and we have much to be proud of in our little state. As much as I love to visit Florida I would never consider moving there, I like it here too much!

Don't most of the snowbirds/transplants come from the NY metro area? I didn't realize that theres a large percentage of people from MA that do that too.

I think that Ohio must be in the running for that title. I remember the time that a Florida resident asked me "What do the 10 of you that stay in Ohio during the winter do for entertainment?" Lots of snow birds in the Buckeye State.

Don't discount Chicago as a hotbed of DISers. It amazes me how many Disney fanatics live in the northern US.

I stay here because my family is here. I cant stand winter or fall, and the past few years, spring has been nonexistent. I even go to Florida in the summer, LOL! If it werent for my family I would so be living down there.

A lot of people from MA retire in Florida. My relatives say that it seems like whole Counties move to certain areas. So, you get the Merrimack Valley MA people in one area of Florida, the NY Metro people in another and the Jersey folks somewhere else. I suppose you move where your old buddies or other family are.

As someone else has said, it is the best of ALL worlds! True seasons with season changes, and I love them all. Being human, of course, I am sick of each as the new season dawns. I agree CamColt, not much Spring lately, but how can you hate fall? Close to the mountains and the ocean - probably the biggest draw for me!! Also family (It is said that New Englanders are born, grow up, raise their families and die within a 50 mile radius - of course this is also changing with the younger generations!) Although the 30 inches of snow we had last week, with the mess of snow, sleet, ice and rain yesterday do make me wonder why - I know I love it here and would miss my "Home" very much! [

Since i am now sharing my time between MA and Indiana because of school...going back to the Cape for seafood.
Nothing beats it snowing while shopping in Fanuel Hall.
NOthing beats watching the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TAKE THE FIRST PLACE SPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems that Maine is Massachusetts North. :teeth:

Last summer someone pasted a sign over the sign on our town line, over our town, and it said Massachusetts. :wave2:
