Is LTT dinner worth it?

We have planned a last minute trip to Disney and have never done a character meal before. Since LTT is stopping their character meals I was wondering if it was worth the extra effort to try and get ADR's. Out trip is in early Sept and I have been calling Disney two or three times a day trying to get a spot with no luck so far. I have heard conflicting things about the food as well. Any help or advice you could give would be great.

It is good but I wouldn't drive yourself crazy trying to get an ADR. The food was good when we went. We like thanksgiving food. We have young kids so they loved this meal. I think they have three meats that they serve beef, pork, and turkey. The turkey was good the other two were dry. It is nice not to leave the park to have dinner and when you are done right back to the rides. h

No..... Go to the store and get Swanson TV dinners and you will pretty much know exactly what the food tastes like. On my first trip with my kids in 2001 this was the one ADR that I was most looking forward to. We have not been back. Now the character interaction was pretty good and the theme of the restaurant was nice, but the food was not. There is a lot better food to be had with characters... almost any other character meal would have better food.

I had lunch there a few years ago no advanced reservation , but it was later in the afternoon. I had the Beef Pot Roast dinner. I was impressed with the meal I got. Roast beef is usaully not a favorite of mine. I would order this meal again as it was so good. I do remember service lacking a bit. Maybe try this restaurant for a late lunch if there is no longer a character dinner. Let us know what you think.

We did the LTT dinner in '06 and it was nothing like a TV dinner. The meats were hand-carved and the veggies were very fresh. We loved it! The characters were excellent as well - very interactive with my children and so cute in their colonial garb! I would definitely try it if you can get in!

No it's not the best meal, but I don't think it's TV dinner food either. We thought it was fine.

We really enjoyed the fact that we did not have to worry about running back and forth to a buffet line to get our 3 kids and ourselves food.

I would keep trying, but not stress out of it doesn't happen.

The food is sponsored by Stouffers, so it really is just a step above a TV dinner. Maybe like a Marie Calendar frozen entree, but really ntohing to write home about. The meats tend to be kind of salty (and not just the "ham"). The lunch menu is entirely different and much better IMHO.

This was our favorite meal last year. Everything was so good, especially the cobbler. I am doing it again this September!!

We have done it the past 2 years in a row and thought the food was great. It sucks that the characters are leaving, when is that effective?

We absolutely love the entire LTT experience. If I were you, I'd keep trying. The food is very good and I am shocked that people are comparing it to TV dinners. I have yet to have a TV dinner that has freshly carved turkey, ham, and pork. They do not serve you frozen foods as others have hinted at. Stouffer's sponsors the mac & cheese dish. Everything else is made fresh on property.

The character interaction is the best at the MK. The atmosphere is also quiet and you are not rushed out of the door. You would be in places like CP or CRT.

As a side note, LTT has a regular menu for lunch. Their buffet is only available at dinner.

We ate there for the CD last September and would not go back.

The food was "so-so", nothing remarkable/nothing horrid. The characters were cute, but quick through. The restroom is on the 2nd floor, up steps. I ask our server (he was the worst part of the dinner... abrupt when there, hard to find when not) if there was a restroom on the lower level and he said no, so if you have any mobility issues be prepared for that.

Trying to get an ADR there would depend on how badly you want it. In our opinion, we would not go back, even with free dining, however your family might like it!

For comparison sake, I thought the food was good at LTT, particularly the roast beef and honestly, you could not pay me to eat at Coral Reef again. After our waiter disappearing for 20 minutes at a time, and being served what is quite possibly the toughest steak (leather boot) I have ever eaten, I had enough.

The dinner food (to us...) was not very good with the exception of the salad and also the side dish of sauteed beans. The meats were very dry and the other side dishes were not tasty (to us...). However, the lunch is ordered off a menu and the meals we've tried have been extremely tasty, especially the pot roast.

If it's a character experience you are looking to try and you cannot get ADR's at LTT (or you decide against it), there are several other options to consider. If you have young children, Chef Mickeys (at CR right next to MK) is very fun (food average) and Crystal Palace in the MK is also fun and we like the food there as well. There is a new character breakfast at AK park in Tusker House that is supposed to have really good food and safari characters. If you want a more mellow character meal, Cape May at Beach Club has a good breakfast spread with mellow characters.

We enjoy it, and have eaten there both times we've been. I like it b/c it's family style and not a buffet taht you have to get up and go too.

Just returned from dinner @ LTT on Thursday and absolutely loved it. Although I wouldn't consider the food quality spectacular, it was perfectly acceptable: for the most part what we expected considering cream potatoes, roast beef, etc. Pretty much standard fare. As far as character interaction, we couldn't have asked for more. Got mulitple visits from all the characters there, including Goofy, Chip & Dale, Minnie, etc. and the kids had a great time. Our families expereince:
- Food Quality: 7/10
- Table Service: 9/10
- Character Interaction: 9/10
- Cleanliness: 8/10
- Atmosphere: 8/10
- Overall experience: 8.5/10 (Would definately do it again if it weren't ending)


As with all other things, different people will experience different levels of enjoyment based upon those particuliar CM's your dealing with. We were very fortunate for our visit as our waiter was courteous, prompt, and very attentive. A bit off topic but our housekeeping experience at PORR is a good example. For the first 4 days of our visit we had the most wonderful housekeeper: Room well cleaned, creative displays of the kids animals, creative displays of the towels including toothbrush holders, etc., plenty of towels. Day 5 brought a new housekeepr: coffee pot never emptied, trundle bed never made or put back under the main bed, garbage bags left on the table, replacment glasses, cups just put anywhere, etc. Two totally different service levels: some people experince only one and project it upon the entire facility or restaurant. If you decide to go to LTT, hopefully your experience will be as good as ours.

Without characters, I don't think I'd do this restaurant again.

The food was so-so. I would agree with those who say it's tv dinner food. It was okay, and we went mainly for the character interaction.

I would say that our server was great and very friendly. And the atmosphere was nice. But it's not on the top of our list to do again.

We ate at LTT on the last night of our last trip, and we enjoyed it. The character interaction was awesome. The characters came around three or four times each. (Minnie even sat with me while the guys were in the bathroom). The food was good, and it was a nice change of pace from what we'd been eating all week. The only problem that I had was the service. Our server wasn't the greatest, but the food and characters made up for it. Now, saying that, I don't see us going back, especially since the character dinner is ending. I might have chosen it as a character dinner if we couldn't get into Chef Mickey's or another character dinner, but I don't see us going there for the food alone. There are a ton of other places that we haven't checked out yet.

Im so saddddddddddddddd to see this one go.............its sooooooooo unique.
Chara are all dressed in colonial costumes, just different and adorable, made for unique pix. Thanksgiving meal fare served, we have always had great food, chara interaction and wait service. We have been 6-8 times and will go once more before its gone. Im sad already.
