Hi!

We are going to Disneyland next week for the first time in years. Can anyone tell me if The Little Mermaid is open yet? If not, does anyone know when it will open?

Thanks!

No. It's supposed to open in 2011. I think around May.
Yep, May 2011 seems to be what everyone is saying. I would not plan on that though - as in plan a trip around it. It could easily slip to June - but likely will be going by mid-June when summer season starts. :)

darn, darn, darn!!

My daughter just LOVES Ariel and I was so hoping that it would be open. Oh well, there is always another trip.

Thanks so much for the help!

I have heard rumor that they could start having soft openings/previews as early as late March but of course that is just a rumor and subject to change.

Remember World of Color was suppose to premiere in April and it was June before it did.

Still just plywood and temporary fencing. No where close to opening.

It's way more then just plywood and temporary fencing! lol. A lot of the scenes inside are already installed and they currently installing the ride system. Latest word is its still on schedule for a May 2011 opening, soft openings very early April.

Oh I really really hope so - does DLR ever do 'special' openings for AP holders?

They have been known to. I know they did for Nemo and think they did for Toy Story Mid-way Madness. They didn't do a preview for World of Color but did hold a special after hours showing a few months later.

Yes, for some attractions (I know they did Toy Story and Nemo, but not World of Color). It's based on a lottery system. You enter and then they randomly pick a bunch of AP holders who then get to go see the new thing on a specific date and with 1 guest. However, nobody knows yet if they will be doing this for the Little Mermaid, Star Tours II or any of the new projects.
