Is Liberty Tree better than Garden Grill?

I noticed the menus for each of these restaurants are similar.

I personally thought Garden Grill was the worst meal I have ever had at WDW.

Can you give me your opinion on this matter?

No see I have not been to Garden Grill in a couple of years but I liked the food way better than the Liberty Tree. I found Liberty Tree's food to be VERY salty and I didn't like the flavor of their gravy at all.

I loved the fact that at the Garden Grill the food used was grown in the Land. But like I said I haven't eaten there in a while so maybe it has gon down hill.

Remember that LTT no longer has characters if that matters. We liked it as a character meal but did not like the food well enough to do it without the characters.

Have not done Garden Grill but it is a must do for my BIL every trip soo....

Must disagree with the GG negatives. We love to eat there. Like LTT also, but we give the nod to GG.

Garden Grill is WAY better than LTT for dinner. You get a little more variety at the GG dinner than you do at LTT (the flank steak is excellent). Not to mention, GG still has Chip & Dale!

AGREED! it really is gross there. there are few places i will never return to and that is right behind crystal palace dinner.

we do love liberty tree! the tavern fried cheese, burger and ooey gooey toffee cake is GREAT!! you won't be disappointed!

Well the Garden Grill is one of our favorite meals! We love it! And it's much better than LTT. We will never eat at LTT again. The only reason we ever went there was for the characters and they are gone now, so no reason to go.

Have eaten at GG multiple times, as well as mulitple times at LTT. So....we like GG, have yet to have a bad experience there. The food isn't haute cuisine but it was fine and we enjoyed it. Dh especially enjoys the fish part of the platter. Okay...LTT. Have done the character meal there on several occasions. I was not sad to see it stop. I actually disliked the food I got at those meals. BUT....when I was there in Dec, I tried it for lunch. I ordered the turkey dinner. My friend kept saying 'Oh, you're gonna get that pressed turkey crap.' No, I didn't think I was. And I was right. The turkey dinner was wonderful. I would do it again in a heartbeat. But dinner at LTT doesn't appeal to me simply based on my previous experiences there. It may be better, I don't know.

Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch has excellent food, especially the pot roast and declaration salad. For lunch you order from a menu with lots of variety and we have always had a great meal.

Dinner is another matter, it is as if they kick out the very capable chef and staff from lunch and microwave pre-processed Stouffers meals to hand out at very high prices. Every dinner there was spotty, as far as quality of food. One time it was astonishingly salty. Another, the hot dishes were hardly room temperature. We kept going because of my Minnie Mouse addiction, and I just loved her in that revolutionary garb. Now that the characters are gone, I would not eat there for dinner, but Lunch is a "must do" each trip.

The Magic Kingdom is simply lacking enough quality sit down restaurants, and so Liberty Tree Tavern continues to limp along with that sad dinner when they could be an amazing restaurant.

Garden Grill is a neat restaurant location and has great charcter interaction. Yet, they also have a problem with food quality consistency. We have had parts of the meal which were great, and then parts which were not acceptable. If they were presenting all the food at the best quality we had experienced, it would be a great meal. If all the food was served at the lowest quality we have experienced, it would be horrible. I really hope they get a chef/staff in there that can bring some consistency one way or the other.

As it stands now, it is a place we book if everything else is booked. Epcot, just has too many good places to eat to consider Garden Grill a real option.

I agree that GG has a consistency issue. I had one meal there that was outstanding - the flank steak was excellent. Raved about it to dh - went back and felt like toilet paper rolls would have been better to try and choke down. The characters there have always been excellent for interaction. I like the revolving nature of the resturant as well.

LTT - haven't been since they did away with characters, but never was blown away by the food. It was better than the bad meal at GG, but not good. We never went there because of the food.

We definately liked the LTT better, I agree w/you the food was the worst we had at all of Disney @ GG. The only thing I liked there was the kids dessert & the salad. Although the menu is similar @ LTT I liked all the food so much better. Even when I consider the fact my son had a HUGE meltdown @ LTT and absolutely loved the characters @ GG...Id still go to LTT over GG anytime.

I'm so glad I'm going to both of those places on my trip next week. But honestly, I find them both to be enjoyable.

As far as LLT vs. GG, I would go with Garden Grill! Last time I was there I had a fantastic experience! But LTT isn't bad either! I just haven't been there in years and I used to only go for lunch. I really don't think you can go wrong.. I'm sure you'll enjoy either one

We just ate at LTT in mid-December for dinner, and rest assured, it did NOT taste like Stouffers (but what's WRONG with Stouffer's???). Only the mac-n-cheese bore any resemblance to my favorite frozen entrees.

The turkey was moist and flavorful, the ham savory and juicy, and the roast flank steak (with their rub/marinade) was worth asking for seconds and thirds.

The mashed potatoes were substantial and good with the gravy, the stuffing was fluffy and well-seasoned without being overly salty, the green beans were snapping fresh, and the mac-n-cheese... well... I have to admit, I prefer Stouffer's to the stuff at LTT. But everything else was (to quote the late, great Thurl Ravencroft) "Grrrrreat!"

Our server was excellent, and all of us enjoyed the meal, from the big bowl of salad at the beginning to the various desserts at the end. So, if you're worried about food at LTT, I can assure you that OUR experience was delightful, and we'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Nothing is "wrong" with stouffers, but for those prices I expect food that tastes better than Stouffers frozen meals. I am glad to hear that there may have been some upgrade to the dinner at LTT. I know they could do up a great meal, unfortunately, I had so many that were subpar, that I will not go back until I hear multiple positive responses here on the Dis, my wonderful Disney addicted family that help me supply my habit.
