Is Le Cellier really that great?

I will say that the mushroom filet with risotto is to die for but honestly I do not like the cheese soup or the pretzel bread sticks...I would not be devasted if we didnt get Le Cellier because there are other places to get a fantastic filet.

My husband loves Le Cellier. I like it. But I wouldn't call day by day to try and get it. But then again, I've never had any problems until now.:sad2:

We love LeCellier - it is a must do for us every trip! Actually, it is one of my DDs favorites - more for the dessert though! Since its a favorite of hers, we're going twice this next trip!

Although it is a favorite of ours - we've always had good food and great service - I wouldn't call every day for an ADR. (I'd try a couple of times, but not every day!)

We also really enjoy BOMA - and you do have a nice selection!! Have a great trip!!!!!

I think it's the closest thing disney has to a signature dining steakhouse that is only 1 TS credit on the dining plan.

I have to agree with the first posters... it's GOOD... not mind blowing. If you can't get the ADR, don't stress about it. I wouldn't lose sleep over it like others on here. :) Also the cheese soup is a matter of personal taste. I LOVED it (better than my steak) and my father thought it was just so-so.

I really like LeCellier. It is not the best restaurant on Disney property, but it is good. It beats character dining, buffets and most 1-table service credit restaurants easily. There are others that are very good such as Chefs de France, Yachtsman, Narcoossee's, California Grille and most other signature restaurants.

We actually thought it was the worst meal for us last year.:confused3 We had far better steaks at the Concourse Steakhouse before it closed down.

Le Cellier is okay. Not really good or great, but not bad either. (I thought it was a little salty a few years ago).

Like at all Disney restaurants, they pack em in. It's the restaurant equivalent of coach class airplane seating.

LOL and ITA

It's the reason we won't be going back and I've eaten there many times. Not even the soup, steak or pretzel sticks would make the experience of dining so close to other parties worthwhile.

I can't think of a more overrated restaurant in WDW. The food is good, not great. I can cook better steaks at home. The tables are way too close together. It totally lacks atmosphere.

I guess it's popular for two reasons. First, it's only one credit on the DDP. Second, the food is approachable for most people.

I was disappointed when we visited LeCellier in March. I bought into all of the hype and I just didn't feel that the quality of the food was deserving of all of the glowing reports that I had read. I too have had better steaks cooked by my husband and dad. I'm sure that we will go back one day, but we have a lot of other restaurants to try first!

We wanted to try it because we'e from Canada and wanted to see how Disney did Canadian food! We'll find out on Aug 29th!:upsidedow

I know I will be in the minority, but in one word (and IMHO) NO! It is probably the most over-rated restaurant on the planet.

Unfortunately I have to agree. We ate there for the 1st time on Xmas Eve. It was good but nothing out of this world. DH even said he had better prime rib at WDW buffets! :confused3

We, too, want to try Le Cellier just to see what all the fuss is about. We had our first meal at Boma in February and we loved it. FYI...Disney buffets have taken Prime Rib off their menus. I forget what cut they are serving instead. If you really want to know, you can do a search b/c there were several threads about it around Dec/Jan.

We have eaten at Le Cellier twice now and have never been dissapointed with our meals! The appetizers and the bread stix are awesome and we look forward to the cheddar cheese soup each time. We ate at Tuttu Italia this past May and it was by far our BEST meal on property. Kona Cafe was good as well, but the atmosphere was a bit lacking for a table service meal.

I say if you can get into Le Cellier then by all means try it...but if not, dont let it ruin your trip! There are SO MANY restaurants that are equally good if not better to try :)
