I was wondering if joining CAA is worth the discount for disney? DH & I are going in July for 2 weeks and it will be $3500 for disney room, dining and 10 PHWP&more...what kind of discount would I get with CAA?

we found the discount worth it. We saved $400 on 11 nights at POFQ, and 7 day PH passes with dining last year. We saved $350 on the same passes and 12 nights at POP this year (w-out dining). Call for a quote, before you buy a membership, and if it is worth it, you can get a travel only membership. We were also fortunate to get a great CAA agent.

Also add the diamond parking, CAA diamond discount card (10-20% of certain stores and restaurants at WDW), discount recreation activities, free picture, free mini-golf, $15 coupon for Planet Hollywood, and collectable luggage tags, and it was an easy decision for us.

Is it worth??? That is for you to decide....Are you joining it just for vacation benefits? If so, I will be honest and tell you that I could get a better deal elsewhere....I have never gotten a good deal with CAA (And I used to work there!). But then again, if you get a GREAT TA there, it might make all the difference in the world....And then if he/she could get you the discount and the deals that you are seeking, then yes, joining them may be worth it.

If you are joining them for other reasons as well, it may also be worth it. If you are like me, and you have a car that you fear one day might not start in the winter, or you like discounted movie tickets, or you like the maps, or the discounted Canada parks passes, and the vacation benefits (for example, 10% off everything you buy and eat at Universal, or the discounted tickets), then yeah, CAA may be for you....

We've been with CAA for now 6 years and it has been worth every penny. We used it for our vehicle before heading to WDW and afterwards once we started driving to disney. Getting insurance is really cheaper too from CAA. This trip we saved for the same package I got quoted at disney $300.00 total. The agent couldn't figure it out and neither could I. I also like booking with them because I can use my debit card where with disney I have to use my credit card. Also my package comes much earlier with CAA then with disney. I've heard people getting nervous that they are leaving in a week and there package hasn't arrived yet. We have always gotten our package at least 1 once before we leave:banana: For our family it is nice to have CAA behind us.:yay: :yay:

We booked our 6night stay at Pop with passes and dining plan with CAA and only saved about $115 from the prices on the disney site- I was hoping it would be more than this but every little bit helps- Jen

the discount applies only to the room rate i was told, and ours was less then 10%.

If you do decide to slip over to Universal, as ChisJo mentioned, CAA will get you discounts at almost all restaurants & shops. What I like about CAA rates at Loews, is that they are among the lower rates and still qualify for Loews First. That allowed us to get a great suite upgrade on our last trip. We only saved a few bucks on our WDW portion of our trip but even that came close to recovering the cost of the membership.

... free picture, free mini-golf, $15 coupon for Planet Hollywood, and collectable luggage tags, and it was an easy decision for us.

That all comes part of a standard Magic Your Way Package, not because of CAA.

Yes it is worth it. Besides the obvious deals everyone mentioned we also have a membership for another reason. We were trying to get the 4th night free promo and all available rooms were booked. I called AMA and they were able to get us a room only discount and 4th night free because CAA/AAA have a certain number of rooms blocked and available at their rate. So even if you are told they are booked up they usually are not because rooms are blocked for others. You have to deal with them CAA directly not CRO by asking for the rate.

Then we got ripped by our first TA, before we switched to CAA. We never got the Diamond card for discounts at World of Disney, the $15 off at Planet Hollywood, the free picture, the parking pass, bonus 1/2 hour sea racers, or free mini-golf, just 4 cardboard luggage tags. Maybe I should go to her office.

The parking pass/diamond card are unique to AAA (CAA) everything else you mentioned is part of current Disney promotions available to anyone booking a package at Disney.

The last trip we booked, and then had to cancel (in May):sad1: , we received all of this too, and we DID NOT join a membership. We just booked our vacation through them. So I do not believe you have to sign for a membership to receive these perks, as long as you book the vacation through them, you should receive the above.

Hopefully my CAA agent will be calling soon. Don't have ours yet with only 2 weeks to go!
