Is Jaws open at night these days?

I'm surprised that the majority of you are not upset about the closing of Jaws. After Jaws closes, the only reason I will have to go to Universal is to ride E.T.. and maybe the Mummy. And that's almost not even worth it.

Me and my friends are now planning a quick trip down to Universal next weekend (Dec. 10 & 11) to say goodbye. Ever since I was a kid, all the advertisements I ever saw of Jaws took place at night, in dark, terrifying water. Every trip I've been on, Jaws has closed for the day before it was dark enough for me to experience this.

Please tell me Jaws will be open at night while we are there. The park closes at 7:00.

It will be open during regular park hours.

So all the way until 7:00? Meaning it will be dark?! :woohoo: This is SO EXCITING.

Is it still opening at a later time than the rest of the park?

I don't think there is any ride at any park whose closure would make me not want to go to that park anymore. I like changes at theme parks!!! To me, it is what keeps them exciting. If everything was always the same, then I would probably consider not going anymore.

Yeah...it's getting dark here around 5:45pm so you will be able to ride when it's dark. I'm going tonight for the concert so I will try to ask some questions.

I would imagine that if the lines get long, they'll open it earlier. The fact that it actually did open later than the rest of the park is an indication that it just wasn't as popular as it used to be. Hanging on to a ride that is very expensive to operate and that isn't in hot demand, isn't good business sense.

The entire World Showcase section of Epcot opens two hours after park opening. Does this mean it isn't popular or in demand? I imagine that the later opening was more due to the fact that is is very expensive to operate, along with the fact the the majority of the guests do not make it that far into the park that early, since they're going to stop for Rip Ride Rockit and The Mummy along the way. I think if you'll look at the uproar happening all over Facebook and on a few petition sites, you'll see that Jaws is considered to be a staple of Universal Studios by many. Jaws created the summer blockbuster. Universal Studios isn't Universal Studios without Jaws. The comments on these boards surprised me when I got here. I thought surely the diehard fans would be the most upset. :confused3

I'm sorry, I didn't make this thread to be part of the Jaws closure opinions thread. I just wanted to make sure I would be able to ride it at night before it closed.

I believe it's opening at 10am right now, but that could change.
