Is it worth trying to get ADRs?

We decided at the last minute (today) to book a 6 day trip to Disney. This is the first time I have ever had such a short time to plan. Should I make an attempt to book dining reservations or just take our chances. It will be just the two of us, my husband and me. It is also the first week of April. Any info on how busy it will be?

How busy will it be...probably very busy! But, there are still quite a few good adrs still available...just check it out online. Of course, places like CRT are all booked up, but they have been since the 180 day window opened up.

I'll be there for Easter week and I keep changing my mind (I want Garden Grill...no, maybe Biergarten would be nice!). I've been able to change, add, readd and cancel a bunch of ressies! I like how the online system will show you not only if your choice is available, but it will give you some alternatives to consider that have openings around the meal time you are looking at. Personally, I would make as many adrs as I could- this way if you are in the mood for that meal...great! If not, then just cancel as soon as you can (I know some folks would just no-show, so I guess that is an option, but I always prefer to just give a quick call to say that we won't be there, KWIM?)

Depending on how much of your life you want to invest in it, sure--try!

I have had incredibly great luck at booking stuff last minute and even changing things. I'm talking O'Hana, Le Cellier, etc. Even those "hard ones" are always changing.

I don't try too hard, I figure if it's meant to be, it is. I've also just walked up and had no problems too. If there's a place you really want to go and can't get an ADR, still go there and see if they can get you in.

I did something haywire with our 50's Prime Time Cafe reservation and they worked it out for us, no problem. I find them to be very helpful and they want to make you happy.

I was able to book every restaurant that I wanted with the exception of Shulas. I called the restaurant directly and made that reservation over the phone. I don't even remember setting up an account with WDW, but there it was.

i'd rather take the time to make adrs rather than spend oodles of time standing around hoping to get in as a walk in. other wise (at worst) be prepared to do counter service your whole trip.

Thank you. I saw that on the Bluezoo forum and while I was looking for the Bluezoo certificate, I got a Shula's cert. for $3 each.
