Is it worth the upgrade?

I have reservations at Pop for a long girls weekend 2/3-2/6. Is it worth the $200 increase to switch to CS? I'm worried about enough space since it's 4 adults. Thanks.

Are you going to be in the room much? If not, I'd probably stick with Pop and save the $$.

You do realize that at Pop, it will be 2 adults to a double bed, right? That's kind of....tight.... :crowded:

With 4 adults, yes, I would consider switching for the very reason Mousemommy1 pointed out. I couldn't share a double bed with another person.

Is that a total of $200? Divided by 4 that is $50 a piece. The rooms are small at Pop and the beds are only double beds so it is going to be tight. At CS you are going to have queen beds so a little more sleeping room and the rooms themselves are a little bigger. I don't remember if they have any kind of pull down beds at CS, I know they do at some of the other Moderate resorts, which would be mean if you have a smaller person, at least 2 people wouldn't be sharing a bed. I guess it depends on how close you are and how much time you plan on spending in the room. Frankly, I've stayed in deluxe resorts with a sleeper sofa and that was pretty tight for 3 adults so I can't imagine 4 women sharing a value.

"Worth" is totally subjective. Only you can determine your definition of worth.
I will not share a double bed with anyone, so yes it is worth it to me.

Personally, I think the upgrade is worth it. I find the rooms at the values to be a bit too small, especially with more than two adults.

Assuming CSR ...

$200 total, for 3 nights, so you are saying $50 per adult total? ............... YES.

Four adults in two double beds as opposed to four adults in two queen beds.

Also a curtain at the bathroom sink area for POP vs doors at bathroom sink area for CSR.

NOTE: Love POP and CSR, my favorite value and moderate.
Heading to POP next week for something like 18th time, so not negative on POP.

I do love the Pop, but I'd definitely upgrade in your situation. If only for the queen beds! CSR is actually perfect for a girls weekend! There are a lot more bar/restaurant options at the resort, and the grounds are much more adult and relaxing.

I am in the minority here, for a short trip, if you are spending the time in the parks, I would rather use the $200 towards a good dinner, souvenirs etc.

Like some others have said, I think the biggest single factor is how long you plan on staying in your resort. For a park visit oriented trip where you're basically in one or all of the parks from open to close and you are simply looking for a place to rest your weary heads (and feet), save the $200 and stay at PoP....for a more relaxed experience spent in your resort pool, eating, sauntering, etc. that upgrade would serve you well!

I think it depends on if you all will be ok with two adults in each full bed or not. Really think on that. Because if you're not down with it, you could come back from a great first day at the parks only to have an awful evening/night that you won't be able to do anything about for the whole trip. CSR has much, much better lounge/bar/dining options, and is much prettier.

I think so, if only because you will be trading full beds for queen beds. Much more comfortable for 2 adults to share a queen.

Besides the extra room and larger beds, the CSR bus stop at MK is much closer to the gate (this always looks so appealing to us after a long day in the park as we pass by on the way to POP or AS stops)

I will heartily confirm the utter and sheer magical joy of the nearness of this bus stop to MK at the end of the evening, after having had to make the same walk to the Pop bus stop on a previous trip.

I'm in the minority here, my suggestion would be pop. Its more themed and magical then CSR. CSR is a convention hotel, and the prior posts are accurate in that they have more bars and dining options, but be prepared to see lots of lanyards and people in suits all day. I personally go to Disney to escape the business feeling, and the rooms are very business minded. Pop screams Disney and its so much fun, and they have a fun pool bar and my favorite food court on property and I've stayed at most resorts. Also, there is a bridge connecting pop to Art of Animation, and their food court is awesome too. CSR also has an internal bus system because the resort is expansive, so getting to and from the parks will take much more time then the Pop buses. Also, if your at a park and the AoA bus pulls up, hop on that bus, it will get you to your room at pop! Also hour glass lake is beautiful to walk around or jog around! If your just using the room for sleeping my vote would be for POP.

Have you stayed at CSR or are you just going on the usual assumptions about the place? You absolutely do not see "people in lanyards and suits all day." CR is a convention resort, too, and no one would say don't stay there you'll be surrounded by suits there.

Our family has stayed at both and really like both, well our DDs are not as fond of POP as mom and dad:) Normally I am one that says why pay more for a room if at the parks all day. But in this case with 4 separate adults and I am guessing the $200 will be split 4 ways, that breaks down to less then only $17 per night to get queen beds and a bit bigger room. Which will probably mean a better nights sleep. CSR does have multiple bus stops, but in no way will you save "much more time" then you would at POP.

Very true about the buses. Although there are four stops, it's a very quick loop, and travel times from CSR are much shorter than Pop once the bus leaves the resort because CSR is located next to DHS. Both Epcot and DHS are five minute rides, Magic Kingdom is a 10 minute ride, and so is Animal Kingdom.

A good sleep is paramount for me. DH and I can handle a full but a queen is soo much nicer, and that's with my husband. I'd pitch in for queen beds if I were going!

Have you actually stayed at CSR...?

1. "Magical" and "themed" are subjective. The OP is talking about four adults - not children - so they may prefer relaxing landscapes to vibrant statues.

2. I have never seen guests in business suits. The only times I've ever encountered convention guests is when I've had to use the bathrooms by the convention rooms.

3. While CSR has four bus stops, it is a very quick ride around the resort. And because CSR is centrally located, it is much faster to the parks than most other resorts. The bus drop points at the park are also closer.
