My DH and DS are going to "week-camp" in June for Boy Scouts.

Once again, DD and I will be left at home. Wait - we could go to WDW!

I did receive a pin and called CRO tonight. They did have availability for our dates at ASSp and ASMu. My third and fourth choices, but hey, it's only $59.00/night, so $400 total for 6 nights.

Add on 3 day tickets (have some leftovers from home), Dining Package, and airfare, and it's $1492.00.

So, I figure with food included and some breakfast in the room, we could take about $300 - $350 with us and go for almost a week for less than $2,000.

I will qualify this by saying that we were just there in December for Christmas (entire family) and will be going back in November (entire family).

This $ would not break the bank, however the $ isn't just lying around either.

Is it worth it? DD is 6 and we have never gone anywhere alone. At times she can be trying, but what 6 year old can't. I figure, if she gets difficult, we head back to the resort. An afternoon nap wouldn't hurt either one of us.

I have until 3/24 to make my deposit.

What would you do?

P.S. DS10 is a little miffed that I would do WDW without him. DH reminded him that starting next year they will be doing high-adventure stuff with BSA and we wouldn't be going on that.

And I'm a man!

I've watched DW and DD (8 months) build their relationship over the last few months, and I can think of nothing better than sending them off together 5 years from now for a special "mother-daughter" trip to WDW. In fact, I would do something to make it really special...get embroidered shirts or something.

It will be a memory she'll cherish for a lifetime....

Go For it ...Even though I am almost 23 My mom and I go together and its the best trip I would recommend going and trying to get CRT or PSB or 1900 Park Fare for dinner the two of you would have a great time doing that.

Go For it !

I think you should absolutely do this trip. Your DH and DS have the chance to bond and spend time together through BS, so I think this would be a great mother/daughter trip. Make it fun and relaxing and have a wonderful time!!

A little one on one time with your DD? Yep! I'd say it's worth every penny. Believe me, I know how trying a 6 year old girl can be. I'm not exactly liking mine this week (but I still love her!). I think you should go and make some extra special memories

I think it is a fabulous idea!!! you both will have this
special experiance FOREVER!!! Please do it!! princess:

Bev - you know you wanna - so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
and have a great time and make mother/daughter memories

(I was thinking of you last night. Hadnt heard from you for a while. Hope all is well.)

What a truly incredible opprotunity you have in front of you! As long as you can afford it, definitely do it! You would have such wonderful memories, and 6 is almost the perfect age - they are big enough to do just about everything, and still young enough to get absorbed into the Disney magic! Do it, you won't regret it!

I'd definitely recommending going on a "Mommy & Me" trip!!! I have two older girls (one out of college and the other in college) and an 8 yr old. We always take a family vacation every year. But, in 2003, DH & I took the younger one to Disney for MNSSHP and we had a great time!! Allison loved having some one-on-one time!! We went back again last Dec for MVMCP - and it was great!!!

This summer, Allison and I are going back for a "Mom & Me" trip! We are really excited - can't wait!!! (Oldest daughter is going to Paris, and can't take off of work in June, and middle daughter is taking some summer classes, so she can't go).

Another vote for yes!! Sounds like a great time to be together and it sounds like it is a favorite place! Remember you can always bring DS a T-shrit!!

If the guys are having a boy-only trip, I see nothing wrong with the gals having a girl-only trip. You may not get another opportunity like this. You should take advantage of it.

DD and I love our "Girls Weekends" when DH and the boys are doing Boy Scout stuff. We go out to eat, shop, she gets to sleep in my bed, we watch movies together, etc.

Even if you decide not to spend the money for the trip, it can be a great bonding experience.
