Going to attempt to get reservations for early dinner at O'Hana...I have heard its a must do! Tell me why? Also-how is Chef Mickey for a char. b'fast with my eight year old son? Thanks. :thumbsup2

We have never done Chef Mickeys-we don't do a lot of breakfast ressies. We have done Ohana's a couple of times-myself and my 2 ds's enjoy it-DH enjoys the food but finds it to be too much work for him (sticky wings and shrimp that has to be peeled, and having to stop frequently to cut up the kids meat throughout the meal as it is delivered).

The food is why we go to Ohana.

The first time we went I hadn't a clue, but my niece highly recommended it and since she knows good food we followed. ;)

Haven't been disappointed in the 3 times we have been there. And it seems to get better with each visit.

Of course the meal is some of our favorites....
Pineapple bread (I am a bread nut in any form), sticky wings with 3 sauces, what is not to love there??? :rotfl2:
Noodles hit the spot as I love any kind and the 2 big stars of the show for us.....the sirloin skewers and bread pudding with bananas foster caramel sauce. I could bath in that sauce!!!
And it is all you can eat! I can eat the things I want and leave the other stuff behind.
This is the meal I am a kid at and turn myself loose to eat only what I "want". lol

You are going to get very 50/50 reviews of 'Ohana on here. Personally, we loved it and are going back again, but people tend to complain about the service and the temperature and dryness of their meat. Just remember, the meat is cooked over a fire pit, so your pork and chicken will be a little dryer than what oven roasting would get you, and if the steak they bring you is too done for your liking, you CAN ask for a different skewer.

Chef Mickey will give you more negatives than positives, you go for the characters, not the food, although breakfast is much better recieved than dinner. Yuck. We'll never do that again.

Must repeat what someone else already stated - Chef Mickey is definitely THE spot to see the Fab Five for kids. All the characters come to the table and visit and pose for photos. It's not about the food, it's about seeing the characters at CM.

Well there were no chef mickey breakfast res. available...... and ohana had no dinner res. available but I was able to reserve b'fast at ohana......will we enjoy it? Not a big Lilo/Stitch fan but willing to give it a try. Your thoughts anyone?:confused3:confused:

Ohana breakfast is a favorite of ours. The food is good (eggs, bacon, sausage, mickey waffles, fruit, warm breakfast breads, potatoes) and is served family style which is nice. The character interaction is very good - you will see Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch - Stitch & Pluto are exceptionally entertaining! There is also a parade around the restaurant whereby the characters lead kids playing maracas. This is a fun character meal but somewhat relaxed also with the polynesian theming and you don't have to worry about missing characters while at the buffet.

We love Ohana's for breakfast. It is a must do for us. We're not Lilo and Stitch fans either, but the food is great and you do get to see Mickey and Pluto. this is my husband's favorite breakfast spot. Chef Mickey's is a great character experience, but even breakfast is just OK and it is very loud.
