I live an hour away from Disney, and I was wondering if you think it would be a good deal to get a one day park hoper vrs staying over night at a Disney resort.

I think there is a 4 day FL resident ticket you can get that is fairly reasonable. If I lived an hour away, I'd have an annual pass.

I recommend the 4-day Florida Resident Pass or the Seasonal Pass. We live about 1.5 hours away and we have the Florida Resident Seasonal Passes. I honestly don't remember how much they cost because we've been getting the renewal price for so many years. You're "blocked out" Easter week, middle of June - middle of August, Thanksgiving weekend, and sometime between Christmas and New Year's but we've never had an urge to go during those times anyway. We go a couple of times a month for day trips; stay over maybe twice a year, just for one or two nights. Just FYI - the Seasonal Pass does not include parking like the Annual Pass does.

FYI...unless my memory fails me...there is no such things as a one day park hopper. That was part of Disney's plan from day one. That way they encourage you to spend at minimum two days there.

I checked the seasonal pass would be about $249 before taxes though

There's also the weekday annual pass (same block outs as seasonal, plus weekends). It's only about 165$.

If you want to go sometime soon, buy the play 4 dream pass for 100$. Use it between now and May 25th. Just before May 25th, upgrade it to a seasonal or weekday seasonal. The thing with annual passes, they're all park hoppers, except epcot after 4 pass.

i have goten a one day park hoper before, and I was thinkinking that seens my b-day is on a sunday therefore I can't spend the night having school the next day and all.

You can get a one day hopper, but it doesn't make a lot of financial sense. An adult one day ticket is $79 and it costs $52 to add the hopper option, so that one day hopper will cost you $131 plus tax. Still, though, if you only have one day, and you really want to do two parks it might be your only option.

I'm not sure I really understand what you're asking here. Even if you stay overnight at a Disney resort you'll still have to get a park ticket to get into the parks. You'll need to buy the ticket either way, so really your decision just comes down to whether you want to drive for an hour to get home after spending the day in the parks. I can tell you that I live about 40 minutes from Disney and we only very rarely spend the night there. Most of the time we just drive there and back for the day.

As far as which ticket to get, it really depends on how often you think you'll be coming to Disney and how much you have to spend. Because of the way Disney tickets are priced, a 1 day ticket is a pretty bad deal... especially if you do plan to come back fairly frequently.

A one day ticket will cost you $84.14 (including tax).

Right now they have a special for FL residents that allow you to get a four day ticket for $105.43. This is a great deal, but it has some block out dates around easter and is only available until (and must be used by) May 25th.

Alternately, if you don't think you'll be at Disney 4 times before the end of May, but think you might come occasionally you can get a regular FL resident 4 day ticket for $174.66. This is a special ticket that has a 6 month expiration window, so you'll get 4 park days that can be used anytime within 6 months of the first time you go.

Finally, if you think you may be coming more frequently then you might want to look at the seasonal or annual pass. The seasonal pass is $265.19 for an adult and gets you in all year, but does have block out dates. You can't come during the busiest times... typically it's two weeks around christmas and new years, two weeks around easter, and most of the summer from mid june to mid august. Frankly, since these are some of the busiest times you might not want to come to the parks during those times anyway.

Lastly, you could get an annual pass for $392.99. This is good for a year and has no blackout dates. The other big advantage of the annual pass is that you get free parking. Since parking is $14 per day, if you plan on coming a lot then the annual pass will pay for itself.

I am sry I was just saying that insted of staying on property, I would use the money on a parkhoper and not stay in orlando over night at all

At an hour away I wouldn't bother with staying at the resorts. I used to live in Hollywood and drive to Disney just for the day. Eventually when gas prices skyrocketed, we started doing weekend trips a little less often than daily trips.

As a florida resident, look into the resident options that would be best suited. If you're coming during the week, upgrading from a single day ticket to a weekday annual pass is much more economical than adding park hopper. Since weekday annual pass is a park hopper and is good for the next 365 days... (80$ish to upgrade to this in comparison to 52$ for park hopper option).

we live 2.5 hours away and havent tried the lets do disney in one day yet.. Im not sure if Im brave enough but will see how I do since I agreed to a day trip to epcot with dd's class in April.. ;) I did buy the 4 day $99 pass in Feb when we were there for a cheer competition. we used 2 days of it and will use it for her class trip. It was worth it. Im not sure for us buying year passes as we enjoy going to other places besides disney so this was a great buy for this year for us.. You can always find deals on hotels from different sites.. This past trip we stayed off site for $29 per night off of travel zoo. It was perfect for us and the team..
