to get a season pass for the following:

One day in Feb.
Three to four days in May
One week in August.

So about 11-15 days altogether over the next eight months.

Also, what kind of discounts are offered for AP holders?

Well mathamatically speeking you are already saving A LOT on your ticket alone.

around $85 a ticket.

11 X 85 = $935

Compare to the cost of a pass. I say it is VERY worth the money.

Check the ticket site and do the math......it may be worth it. AP holders can get discounted rooms, some dining discounts, and a magazine. Couple of years back we did the AP with a DVC discount. We broke even after 8 days so the rest were free to me!

AP is $520, including tax. Would the tix you'd buy otherwise be more than that? Just add them up and see.

One good thing about the AP is the hopping. It's included whereas with the MYW tix, you'd have to pay an extra $52 per ticket. For 11-15 days you'd have to buy at least two tix. (MYW tix only go to 10 day). You could buy the non-expiry option (which is pretty expensive) for one trip, use the tix on the next trip. Then buy another for the third trip without the no-expiry option.

I'm guessing you're definitely better off with the AP.

I was just in that situation - 10 days in the parks over two trips, so should I get non-expiring park hoppers or AP. AP made a lot more sense, then add the fact that I just got 45% on Beach Club and it more than paid for itself. Don't know if you're driving, but you also get free parking at all parks. There are a list of other discounts - most of which won't help me, but are great to many others. I will be using the discount on renting the mini speed boats and mini golf.

Using 1 + 3 + 7, no plusses: $79 + $219 + $234 = $532

Using 4(NE) + 7, no other plusses: $277 + $234 = $511

AP = $520

All prices before tax.

So I *think*: if you want to park hop on any of the trips, get the AP. If your second trip is for 4 days instead of 3, get the AP. If your second trip is for 3 days, it's *very* slightly cheaper to get a 4 day no expiration ticket for the first 2 trips and a 7 day ticket for the second ... but with an AP you'd get so many discounts I'd probably do it anyway. Heck, even on our first trip with our AP we probably saved $50-70 on merchandise and mini golf discounts, and that doesn't count the 45% off AP rate currently being offered for the deluxe resorts.

The $520 on the AP is after tax. I didn't check the other. The other benefits such as room discounts, free parking, some shopping discounts, park hopping, etc. make it worth it for you in my opinion.

Aolthough you use the phrase "season pass" I think you actually mean Annual Pass. A Seasonal Pass is specific for Florida Residents and has blockout dates.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #18, you can see all ticket prices and do the math. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

FYI, I would never compare the cost of any multi-day ticket against the 1-day price X number of days. Unless someone is completely foolish, they would not buy a whole bunch of 1-day passes. Not saying there aren't people out there who do, but... :)

Another factor is whether you will definitely be going to the parks all of the days you listed, as opposed to a day enjoying a pool or water park. That can make a difference too.

Oops! Yes, I mean Annual Pass.

Thank you everyone for your answers, it does come out to be about the same amount to buy separately compared to the AP but the discounts will make it worth it. PLUS maybe I can fly down for another long weekend in October for F&W!

Thanks again!

Actually...I just did the math (thanks to Cheshire Figment's link) and because I would want the park hopper for both the May trip and the August trip, I will save money by purchasing the AP.

Thank you everyone for your input!

The downside of having an AP is they are made of a special material that can sense if they are sitting in a drawer or suitcase more than 100 miles from WDW. If that happens, they will start screaming: Use Me!

The other thing that happens is you say, "Hey, we have APs now so we can go again without buying tickets." Then the room charges and other stuff for the extra trip eat the savings, but you're at Disney more so you don't care.

:lmao:
mine must be a super AP its about 700 miles away and does this all the time. stupid thing won't shut up, even if you lock it in a safe. and if you start talking about going anywhere else it gets louder and louder. Amazing technology.

OMG - you must have known my AP personally!!! Sadly, due to this very issue, we had to part ways.:sad2:
