Is it worth it?

I booked very cheap airfare online $140 from cleveland to orlando RT. I bought the airfare because of the price. I don't yet have hotel res. my first choice was bonnett creek because i am a wyndham owner and stayed there last year and loved it. this time i thought of staying at disney. For four nights it would cost me $550 for all star resort alone. is it worth it or should i just stick to staying somewhere else. I'm saying is it worth it cause I'm going by myself and seems like a lot to spend going by myself.

I always think on-site is worth it. The atmosphere and convenience alone make up the minimal cost difference for a value resort. Heck, I live in Orlando and am considering getting a room on-site for a few nights in May just to make visiting with DIS'ers easier and more vacation-like.

I usually only stay on site when I want to purchase the dining plan. The transportation and extra magic hours do not mean that much to me.

you may not be too happy staying at the all star or pop century. I have stayed at both, but I was with my kids. I think you may find the swan or dolphin more sophisticated & you may be able to get them for the same rate as the moderately priced hotels on the property. However, if you intend to rent a car, you may as well stay where the price was better & you enjoyed before. I strongly discourage you from staying at a Disney value resort where you are traveling alone, it's highly unlikely that you will feel comfortable unless you are taking children with you, then I would stay there in a heart beat.

the good thing about staying at disney is the transportation, so the question is do you want to drive everywhere you go?

Once you stay on-site, its very difficult to stay anywhere else. My first time at a Disney Resort was in 1995 and have been hooked every since (prior to that, I stayed in various places).

DH(44) and I (40) do not have children and we love staying at the All Stars and Pop. My parents loved Pop in Dec and my MIL and BIL are going back to Pop with us in Oct. I have stayed at the Swan and it is lovely, but I am more at home in a value.....I am a cheap date. We only use the room for quick naps and sleep, so the room really isn't that important to us. The transportation and EMH are......see we are all different which is what makes WDW such a cool place to visit no matter what age, where you live or what you drive.
