Is it worth it to have grocery delivery to a studio? You can't really "cook" unless you are in a 1-bedroom. Is it better to just bring snacks - pretzels, popcorn popcorn:: , etc. - than to bother with ordering groceries?

I wouldn't spend the money for so few items. You can pick them up at the store at the resort.

When we stay at DVC, I usually run over to Publix or Goodings and get milk, OJ, etc. Since we go through it pretty quickly. And we have the car, so it's easy to go over there.

The only time I ordered anything was one year at Christmas time and we ordered a turkey dinner from Goodings.

We just bought a loaf of bread, small jar of p.b. and jelly at the shop at OKW when we were there last weekend, but we brought chips, breakfast items and other snacks with us. If i had thought about it (we were driving), I would've packed the pb/j and bread from home. We also took water and soft drinks, and we just bought an oj at the shop (I know, terribly expensive but worth the convenience).

FWIW, it took several hours before our 'frig was cooling properly - it had been turned nearly off so if we'd arrived with a lot of cold items from the store, I would've worried about them spoiling before the 'frig got cold.

We didn't have that experience on our first DVC stay, but we did this time which was our second.

We plan on having groceries delivered when we go in October and are staying in a studio. The minimum purchase is $50. We ordered in March and although we had a 1 bedroom at BWV we never did order food that had to be prepared. We ordered 2 cases of bottled water, donuts, bagels, coffee creamer, fresh fruit, soda, licorice...that type of stuff. We found it much less expensive than buying in the parks or resort stores. For example our water was $5.99 a case. Water in the park is $2.25 a bottle (if it hasn't gone up)

In any case, have fun! :sunny:

We were in a studio for 11 days in April. How long are you staying?

I brought (in my suit case) Breakfast cereals, cookies, snacks, salad dressing, chocolate, ice tea packets, jam, peanut butter, plastic cutlery, plates, cups, bowls and crackers.

I did buy: packaged salad, bread, milk, soda, ice pops, bagels, butter spread.

For us, it wasn't worth having it delivered. We use a town car and they stop at Publix for us.

I was going back and forth with this also. We have always had a car and made a quick stop at Publix. This short trip will be girls only. My sister, my daughter and myself in one studio and my cousin and her daughter in another studio. We are bringing the usual coffee, snacks, popcorn, candy, etc.

We really wanted to have two gallons of water (for coffee/tea) and two 24 pks of water. I finally went ahead and put an order in for all of us with gardengrocer. We will have milk, oj, yogurt, fresh fruit, donuts, muffins, choc. chip cookies (things we would not be able to bring on the plane without getting squashed) for the week and we will split the order between us. Had it been just two of us - would just pick everything up at the resort.

We have decided to stay by the pool after we check-in - so we will be there when they deliver our luggage (ME) and groceries.

yes it is worth to me.

I have a tendency if shopping myself, to get a bunch of junk, plus what I really want.

I did save money using wegoshop....

they get just what is on my list period. nothing extra - so the costs were low.

I get lunch meat, fresh fruits & vegetables, eggs, bacon, milk, soup, bread, fixing, crackers, popcorn, pop tarts, one or two of those frozen meals, ice cream (smallest).

everything I get can get cooked in the microwave - or does not need to be cooked at all.

kept in mind you can boil water in a microwave.....(mugs)

I bring some plastic bowls, plates - the paper doesn't last long.

I'd recommend groceries for breakfasts. It's great to pour cereal, reach into the little fridge for fresh milk, some fruit and a dash of cream for the coffee, then head right out to have fun. And boy, does it save money.

I think it depends on how long you stay. If it is 4 or more days I would order groceries. We didn't last time and I regretted it. Previously we rented a car and just stopped on the way from the airport and purchased whatever we needed. However, this was a trip with my teen DD and her friend so we just used Magical Express and packed a suitcase with some snacks but we really needed more.

I would have ordered water, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, chips, milk, etc. The prices at Saratoga Springs were high. We did have refillable mugs which helped.

Gotta have our Dr. Pepper while at WDW, so we definitely order a 24 pack for our 10 day stays. We also like to get milk, oj, water and some chips and other snacks. We eat breakfast in the room nearly every morning.

I think the deciding factor is whether or not you have a car. If you do then grocery delivery doesn't make sense. if you don't, then I think it does. We had delivery last month for a stay in a regular room at WL. We got 2 cases of water, lots of fruit, some beer and wine and Doritos. Nothing fancy, but the kind of stuff you can't take easily on an airplane and that you will pay a lot more for at the resorts or park.
