Is it worth it for me/Would you do it all over again?

If this were true, then there would be no way to explain the popularity of the higher "point-priced" resorts. In other words, if people weren't making decisions based on emotion (i.e. "I really LOVE BCV...") then we'd all always try to book OKW based on utility (lowest point cost per night) right?

(Please, no flames! I love all the resorts and am not knocking any of them!)

Economic utility: the total satisfaction you get from a good or service.

Total satisfaction would include "I love BCV." Economics takes into account that people buy BMWs when a Geo Metro is a perfectly good car to get you from place to place.

I agree $101 is to rich for my blood as well, especially when u consider i just picked up an extra 130 pts for $78 per pt through resale, absolutely no difference in $78 point when u make a reservation, i'de go resale if i had to get in for 1st time.

I'm in sales (totally by accident!)... and always hated having to negotiate... but it's the best thing that ever happened to me personally... because it taught me that no price is final. My guide told me the price is $101. I asked about any special promotions they may have... and he told me I could get my 2005 points for free AND they would take $8 per point off the price (now it's down to $93 per point). Better yet, I could sell 'back' my 2005 points to them, and that would bring the price down to $88 per point.

So all my new friends out there, NEGOTIATE for yourself. Everyone (including Disney) build a 'pad' into the price for pains in the a$$ out there (like me) who will simply ask the question if they can get it for cheaper.

Good luck!

Now I'm STILL trying to figure out if I go for resale SSR for ~$80/point or resale BWV or BCV for more (I love that SALB!!!)

Count me among the DVC maniacs. I am frugal and pragmatic in every other area of my life, but somehow feel only satisfaction about my DVC, even when those $380/month dues are deducted from my checking. I am addicted and enjoying every point's worth of getting high. My DVC has nothing to do with cost effectiveness, even though, as of now, I could sell at a profit.
