Is it worth it buying the meal vouchers?

Are the meal vouchers worth getting? If you were staying at WDW for 6 days, how many would be needed per person?

We are going for 6 days also. I have never used meal vouchers before, but I am bringing some this time. I bought 4 Q&C vouchers on Ebay for 10.00 each. It was a good deal, so I snapped them up. Hoping to share a meal with DH on all of these.
I also bought 2 adult Lunch and 2 Child lunch vouchers.
I plan on using one of each at Rainforest Cafe and Le Cellier.
Heard you get plenty of food at both places to share.

I'll post when we get back what our total savings was.
Hope you have a great time!

I think it depends on where you plan to eat and what you plan to order. We used them for 2 character breakfasts and lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table (note that on that day, there was MNSSHP at night so they had a "combined" lunch/dinner menu).

For CRT, we bought one adult voucher ($35). Dh had a soup appetizer ($4), he and I split the large portion of prime rib (14 oz. IIRC) and mashed potatoes ($26), ds had the kid's burger meal ($5), we all had pop ($4), and dh and I split two slices of their to-die-for triple chocolate layer cake ($6). Our total bill was under $5 (for ds' lunch). We tipped extra, even though the tax and tip were included in the lunch voucher. We definitely came out ahead on that one, esp. when you figure in tax and tip.

#1 which kind of vouchers? THere's Q&C (quick and casual), VKL (vacation Kingdom Lunch) & breakfast vouchers

#2 what style of eating do you prefer? Q&C are good for counter service (the only sit down I know of is Beaches & Cream)
If you prefer sit down to LARGE meals, VKL might be better - but they are LUNCH (price difference: Q&C = $11.50, VKL=$30+)

#3 do you eat dessert? - this is a biggie - if you don't eat dessert, they might not be worth it. Or with the VKL - if you don't care for appetizers and/or dessert..

I've bought them. I like them if only for having meals prepaid & not having to have cash on me. Some places, you break even; some you lose a little; some you make out like a bandit (beaches & cream; pepper market). In the parks with Q&C, I think they're OK but not great.

The breakfast vouchers are nice and offer some savings in that the tip is included - very good for CRT or chef mickey's but a few places are offered that will lose $ on

The VKLs are nice but again - only if you really want a large sitdown meal of appetizer, meal, beverage & dessert. To some, that might be too heavy a meal to have before 4 pm, or they don't want to give up 90 minutes for a meal. On the positive - very nice to use at the Rainforest Cafe at AK (the waitstaff is familiar with them and will even offer suggestions on how best to use them to get the most value) and Le Cellier last year.

One last thought - they all expire in May (any available right now expire May 31, 05) so if your trip is June, you'll need to wait until the next year's batch is available (usually in April I think)

edit for # per person - that really depends on where you choose to eat. With VKLs, many places will allow you to split a meal on one voucher
With the Q&C, at a place like beaches & cream, you might not want your party of 4 to have 4 huge sundaes (1 can easily feed 2-3 people). At Cosmic Rays in MK, you might want 1 voucher per person

it would probly be best to look up the places that accept the different vouchers, look up their menus and go from there - you might decide that 1 day you'll want 1 per person per meal and another day 1 voucher will cover 2 people - or that some days you will want something from a place that doesn't accept the vouchers you have.

I looked over the vouchers and some looked interesting to me, but I opted out because I wanted flexibility. It really depends on your eating habits and the size of your family. Look at the vouchers and decide for yourself. They can be a good value.

Can you use the premium lunch vouchers for character breakfasts or dinners?

I our case we're going to use them for sharing. I had gastric bypass surgery two years ago, and still eat small meals. My son seems to like a lot of things I do, so we're going to use the VKL ones a couple of times to share, and have enough even for him.:)
We're also doing some of the Q&C vouchers too, may have to talk him or my DH into sharing some with those.:)

where are the lunch vouchers posted? How can I look at them before I decide to buy them?

We use them for sharing, too. DD and I can share a meal and never feel deprived because you get so much food with them. We're going to be @WDW 7 days and I have 11 Q&C and have vouchers for our Character breakfast because they were a dollar or two less and include tax/tip. I like that I have so many of my meals already paid for. We'll use them until they're gone and that will be that. I intend to have lunch @Beaches & Cream and Pepper Market and they will be a great savings.

You can use Q&C vouchers for lunch and or dinner at Beaches and Cream and the Pepper Market. This also applies to any counter service restaurant when using Q&C's. The VKL voucher is only good for lunch except at RFC in AK.

I opt out of buying them because it would make me obsessive in trying to get the best bargain for my money. It would become what I HAVE to eat and where I HAVE to eat rather than what I want. For some people though, they work wonderfully.

Could I use the lunch voucher at Rainforest if we ate around 3:00 or so? or how late could we eat there? We are having a character breakfast that am and I don't want to eat early.

Also what is the EASIEST SAFEST way to order these. I've seen several posts about ordering them and then canceling your membership and it not being canceled. I can't take that chance, I'll be using my debit card that I'll use on the trip, can't have the erroneous charges I've seen some people have.

We want to do Rainforest, but our budget is limited. Advice please,

Also how are ressies going for Rainforest? Any hope of getting one Thanksgiving week??? (for mid to late afternoon - an off peak time?)

We don't use them. We are grazers that don't always want dessert at the time of our meals. Also, there are so many negative reports about Connections/Simple Escapes/Hotwire that I would not want to risk doing business with them.

I use breakfast vouchers for character meals (CRT, Crystal Palace, Boma -- oops not a character, Cape May, and Donalds' Breakfastosaurus). With tax and tip included, I save a few $. DH and I have split vouchers at LeCellier, Brown Derby and RFC at AK (for dinner) where we feel we really got our money's worth. We also split Q & C vouchers at Beaches and Cream, and the Pepper Market (love the rib eye, grilled tuna, and prime rib) for excellent value, and Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills, Rosie's Cafe. The last three are places where we only get a little ahead of the voucher, but I like the pre-paid aspect of the voucher. I also like being able to give them to my teenager, even if he only plans on visiting Pizza Planet. At least I know it's going toward food.
