Is it worth going to US/IOA August 9 with no hotel?

Doing WDW for 10 days but wanted to go to IOA/US on Wed Aug 9 but is it worth it without FOTL? Could we arrive at opening and hit Spider/Hulk/Dueling and the rest would be gravy? Likely leave around 6PM. Or is it manditory to rent a room for $229.

Well, my APH rate on August 9th is $129 at RPR. Worth it's weight in gold, IMO.

If buy the express pass for the day you would be fine. I don't n nessary to rent a hotel room just get FOTL.

If you arrive at opening, you can easily hit Hulk/Spidey/Deuling with no wait, and then the rest is a bonus.
The parking garage opens at 8am, and during the summer, the park usually opens at 08:30am.
If everyone can wake up early and you drive over from Disney at 07:30am, it's no problem. But, if you arrive at 09:30am, forget it, the early morning advantage will be gone. You have to arrive the parking garage at 08:00am.

Also - if you don't have FOTL, and can hit the park early - i remember reading here to start from the back of the park.

Most people come in and immediately do hulk b/c it is the first you see. You might be able to start at dueling dragons and work "backwards". Not sure if it would help by the time you got to back to hulk though.

i guess you would be going counterclockwise starting at 12?

Anyway - if it saves you $$ it would be worth a try.

Don't know how much (stayed at RPR) and when you BUY the express pass, it IS for only 1 time each ride that offers express pass in whatever park you purchase it in!

So, if you buy the Express Pass...

Go early AM, ride everything you want. Then use your Express Pass for re-rides!! Best of both worlds!
