Just a bit of an update for you all.
After much arguing and sulking (on my part) we've finaly changed it.

We took the advice given on this thread and looked for a cheaper hotel for 2 weeks, this resulted in us getting The Lake Buena Vista Village Resort and Spa for an extra £400.
We are happy with this because we were going to book here for next year.
It's probably going to cost us an extra £1500 altogether but we can manage it.

Great news. Looks a very nice place. I know many like onsite but have great holidays offsite. In August it is costing almost as much to stay at POR for 3 nights as our first 17 nights offsite.

If its a 1st trip to Orlando it will be very dificult to pick what to do but if you have been before and know what you what to do then its easy.

This is exactly right, the first time you visit, it takes a couple of days to get your bearings, my concern would be that by the time you get used to where everything is and as Wayne says where to go, it would be time to come back.

We visited for a week once on our second visit and it was great, if a little tiring. Remember you would find you had no time for a rest every afternoon.

It is our first trip and we are only going for the week. A friend has lent us their condo 2 hours north of Orlando so we will be spending our second week there relaxing and seeing a little bit more of America. We figure with 2 small children we weren't going to see it all anyway so we would just take our sweet time with it and see what we see and make plans to come back again some time in the future.
