Hi,
I'm new to the forum. Got 2 kids (7 and 8 years old), residing in Northern VA. Wish to find out whether it's worth buying a disney points. Please share your thoughts. Thanks!
As far as DVC goes, we LOVE it! In fact DH and I had been pondering it since 2006. We only wish we had joined sooner before costs had increased!
Last time we flew there, rented a minivan, and rented a 3beds/3baths townhouse in Windsor Hills Resort (2 miles from Disney). Very nice! It had our own private swimming pool and 42 LCD in the living room.
Thanks for all your info.
Btw, we only go to disneyworld once 3 years ago. We'll definitely not wanting to visit Disney several times a year! So, maybe it's not worth to buy a resell (I'm referring to the BWV or BCV).

I would look into renting a reservation from a DVC owner. You will save money compared to Disney's rates and you can experience staying at a DVC resort first hand. DVC resorts fill up fast so plan on renting at least 8 months in advance.
We'd love to try it out too since we'd never stayed in any Disney resorts before. Except once my hub had a business trip and stayed in a moderate Disney resort called: Colorado.. or other name.
He said he had a terrible experience there! The hotel is far away from the conference building in Disney (more than 15 minutes walking). Plus, the foods are sucks in Disney. Next, he couldn't even see the TV in the room at night due to the size of the TV (extremely small). He said he would not want to stay in Disney hotel again!
Jeepers Crowe!!
Sounds like he stayed at Coronado Springs which is indeed a moderate. DVC is Deluxe accomodations. Try renting from a DVC member like a PP said. Give Disney a second chance.![]()
