Is it worth $800 to stay onsite?

I agree with Plutolvr, I would definitely do a split. I know you say its a big prob and takes away from park time but I think in this case well worth it, and just enjoy the transition, get up early, if you get in early bf checkin leave your bags and head over to Universal, its so close, you can then come back, and go back again later, no prob at all and then you won't be worrying about the extra money. Its definitely worth staying on site for the days you visit Universal, but I would definitely just do a split, its not that bad, I actually enjoy splitting it's like getting another vacation, and with going to Universal second, you really lose no time. You're so close you don't lose time. Anway have fun! :cheer2:

4 Express passes Easter week are $140.00 per day. well enough to warrant the upgrade to staying onsite.

Thanks everyone. I'll try the AP route and also re-check getting a rental car on the 16th instead of the 11th. Your going to cost me but I know we'll be happier onsite. Thanks again.

If you have the money do it! We are going in about 2.5 weeks. We went ahead and spent the extra cash!

Is it worth $800 more to stay onsite for 5 nights? Our original plans were to stay at POP Century for 5 nights.(4/11-4/16) $600 Purchase 3 adult 2+3 tickets and get 1 kid free. Kids are 9 & 11. $315 The available stay at Royal Pacific will cost $1773 for the same time frame. If it were maybee $300 I wouldn't think twice but $800.....

There is a huge difference between Pop Century and the RPR. RPR is a nice as a deluxe Disney resort and the service is twice as good. Having FOTL access is worth every penny.

i split my stay between the two parks.

i start at disney and get the value room in value season with the AAA discount for $61 a night. i spend 10 nights there.

i check out ealy on departure day around 7:00 am , get a town service for 7:05 and go to the onsite hotels at universal.

i check in by 7:30 am, store the luggage and talk a long walk and end up at the studios gate around 8:15.

by the early check out at disney, leaving early and missing all traffic on I4, i can check in to the new hotel area and be one of the first at the gate.

i have the fotl but still commando style tour and at the gate early no matter what.

Not to rehash this post but this is what I think I'll try convincing the wife to do. 4/11-4/13 POP, MK and Water Park(free) $630. 4//14-4/17 RHR with FOTL passes & 7 day tickets $1440. 4/18 Siesta Key beach $200. Grand total $2270. + air and rental car which would be the same either way. Thanks for all the input.

looks good. POP's my favorite of the Values, we were at AS sports this weekend and it's looking dingy. where are you staying in SK?
