I thought I read that in March the DVC is going to go up to $101 per point. Has anybody heard this?

I haven't heard anything ...yet...but certainly if the "next new" DVC resort is on the monorail....
...I imagine it'll be way over that price!!

Over on the Rumors board is a post from someone who just returned from WDW and is considering DVC. They say their guide told them the next DVC will be at CR, and then the Poly. If what they say is true, I can see why the price will jump.

IMHO, it is stupid to suggest that the increase in price has anything to do with where the next resort will be. The price per point has been going up regardless of other factors. By the logic being used, there should have been a decrease in cost per point with SSR (I'm not demeaning SSR, just saying it was a larger resort in a more out of the way location).

I agree. Last spring when I was first (actually 2nd or 3rd) considering, I almost bought in because "the price is increasing." The price did increase but later FnF came in and was a better deal than the incentive before the price increase.

As is always the case the market will set the price. At $101. a point they can pyt them on sale for around $90. Nobody pays the list price. Just glad I already did all my addons at $79.

they always go up every year and I expect them to keep increasing. I bought at BWV in 1999 for $65 per point. I wish I knew and bought more then. I also wish I bought the first year in 1991 at OKW, but I didn't go check it out. I am not sure what the prices were then, but I bet they were great.

We just joined up a few days ago and our Guide confirmed for us that the price is increasing to $101 per point shortly.

I'm not one of the lucky ones but I played golf at LBV with a man who bought in early at OKW at around $51 per point with passes to WDW to the year 2000. Not bad.

That's really only a $3 increase because the full retail at SSR has been $98 although I understand alot of folks just bought in at $83.30.

I believe the last price increase (which occurred last June I think) applied to both. SSR went from $95 to $98 and the sold out resorts went from $89 to $92.

Our guide mentioned an increase coming in March although he didn't say how much. He also gave warning that they may be considering charging the closing costs to the buyer at some point. He was trying to convince me to buy more points by pointing out how much more it could cost to do an add-on later. So take that for what it's worth.
