Is it true that you cannot use DDP with the Land portion of Land/Sea DCL?

ARGH! We have a 3 day cruise, 4 day WDW planned in Nov. I just booked 4 character dining events for the 4 days on land. I tried to add DDP for those days, because it definitely would benefit to have them with those character meals. We'll be staying on site and even lunches and snacks will be used.

When I call Disney Dining, they say, sure they can add it. But I have to go through my Travel Agent. Travel Agent gets run around. I call and Disney Dining says I need to contact DCL.

So I call DCL and they say you can't use DDP with the 4 days stay on-land. Sigh. Is that correct? Or is there some otehr trick to get this?

We're stil going to do the character meals anyway, but I find it a little silly that I can't get a meal plan for those 4 days, since I've chosen to cruise with Disney for 3 days after. KWIM?

Friends of ours did the Land/sea package back in My and were NOT able to add the DDP at all :sad2: Maybe things have changed but as of a few months ago you could not - sorry!!!

You must book your land separately as a package with tickets to get the dining plan (unless you are DVC, then no tickets necessary).
Most people just book the cruise separate from the land then add dining to their land package. I would price it out both ways.

Thanks so much for the replies! We've already booked, so at least I'll know for next time. We're probably going to end up joing DVC soon anyway. ;-)

But thanks for the info so I know for certain now. :-)
