Biergarten seating

We were there in February with a party of 4. We had our own table. But there are some communal tables still there. Seems like a mix now. Personally, I'd rather have my own table, but I wouldn't walk out if we had to share either.

We went 2 weeks ago and I didn't really notice communal tables. The tables all seemed to be spread apart. We had our own table as a party of 5, but it also wasn't very busy at 12:30PM.

We went years ago here as a party of 4. We were at a "communal table" which meant we shared a long table for 8 with another party of 4. We smiled at each other when we sat down but other than that didn't talk to each other - didn't seem awkward or anything. Really not that different from being at a restaurant where the tables are close together.

As an American, I have a hard time understanding why we have such a hard time with communal seating. I've had some gereat experiences and some unremarkable experiences but never a bad one. Do you have body odor issues or bad eating habits or something?

You will probably get your own table. I love the communal seating. Makes it feel more authentic to me.
We are trying Biergarten first time for our upcoming trip. What are your favourites? We have son with fish allergy. Do they serve any fish

They might have one fish dish, I can't recall (maybe some salmon), but mostly it's sausages and schnitzel and such. It's heavy on the meat - they even have like a pasta salad with some kind of wurst sausage in it that I really love. There are potatoes and spaetzle (like fried egg noodles) and such. Honestly, the best thing is a desert - the apple strudel (make sure to douse it in the sauce)!

Anyway, fish should be easy to avoid here, and the rest of the food is all delicious!

Oh yeah - pretzel rolls too, with mustard sauce! It's such a good place - I haven't been in a while, but it is one of my go-tos for sure.

I think the most awkward would be if they did odd groups with the odd man out on each group facing each other......I haven't ever noticed them doing that....but I haven't been a lot....

it's a mostly "hey y'all" and a nod and then a random comment or two when getting seconds or something, it's never been a full on entire dinner conversation......but I can't remember if it was an us decision or a them decision....
