I must need more coffee this morning because I don't even know what you are referring to here! :rotfl2::eek:

 seasonal vs seasonable!!!! :rotfl:

I never noticed!! I just liked your term and used it since it was appropriate. Obviously I read it as "seasonable" or I wouldn't have said it that way. :rotfl2: Show how much I really pay attention these days!

I never noticed either... Maybe I should start drinking coffee instead of my tea...:surfweb:

Hi all you AKL and AKV fans! So great to hear the awesome reviews. I just booked my first stay at the AKV club level in May. We're having a baby in April, and my dad lives in Tampa, so we're heading down so he can meet his new granddaughter at the happiest place on earth. Great plan, huh? And since we probably won't be venturing out much with a 6 week old, I figure it was the time to splurge on club level accommodations.

So excited! This will be only our 3rd DVC trip since becoming members last year! We'd like to try all the resorts on for size!

I'm so excited  only 12 days until AKL - CL for our family :yay: ... that is all :rotfl:

Good morning Jamborinis and Kidanites!! :goodvibes

There is no CL at Kidani. When AKL got DVC, the rooms on the 6th floor of Jambo House, the "Deluxe" CL resort rooms, were converted to CL Villas; and much of the 5th floor of Jambo was converted to DVC (non-CL) Villas -- many of those rooms had formerly been CL rooms. At that time, 4th floor rooms became the non-DVC CL rooms. Clear as mud?!!!:rotfl:

Kidani is villas only - studios, 1-bedrooms, 2-bedrooms, and Grand Villas; no CL privileges.

:upsidedow :rotfl: So the CL rooms are at Jambo, floors 5 and 6? And no CL room at Kidani? So if we choose CL or are lucky enough to get it, we'll be at Jambo? :hyper:

jambo house has CL DVC... I have stayed there three times...:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Thank you!!! Floors 5 and 6? What floor is the CL on?

I'm so excited  only 12 days until AKL - CL for our family :yay: ... that is all :rotfl:

 :woohoo: :dance3:  :woohoo: :dance3:

Yep, you'll be at Jambo if you get a CL room. The Kilamanjaro Club Lounge is up on level 6.

hmmmmm.... He loves Blue Bell Ice Cream and we CANNOT get it here.... His favorite potato chip is Zapps and I just ordered $40 worth crazy I know, but I am a sucker for getting he the things he loves...

I will have to think on this one...:surfweb:

Since you have to pay shipping you might as well get a lot, that's exactly what I do!

I love getting favorite foods as gifts. And when the goodies are done that's it, you don't have to find someplace to put it.

We'd spend $100 per day in snacks/booze/and drinks in a day I'm sure however the CL does not offer the things we always get like churros. popcorn, etc...So would I still buy all that stuff in addition ot their offerings? Probably. For me, the evening and morning offerings could easily make a meal but do the offerings change? Is there enough variety to not get bored for 5 nights/days? The booze is a HUGE bonus especially if we can each take 2 beers down each ata time to the pool. The after dinner drinks are also fabby because we spent $10 a pop this last trip for cordials/wine at the Hearthstone at the GCV nightly. $50 a night adds up fast. My ramblings  boil down to the fact that we'd get our money's worth- I have no doubt. I could order less from Garden Grocer for sure. We have become 1/3 resort people and 2/3 park people. Before DVC we were 95% park and 5% resort.

We had CL for 9 days so I was able to see some turn around. The breakfast offerings were the same every day. Fruit, mini-muffins, bagels, croisants, quinoa, oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereal, pineapple juice, orange juice, milk (regular and chocolate). Sometimes they had the most magnificent 'African Smoothie' for breakfast and other times it was out after breakfast. They always had the espresso machine with both decaf and regular that you make individual cups. The appetizers they put out in the evening were different for a few nights and then rotate to some that had been out before. The dessert offerings were different on numerous evenings, they always had about four or five different ones, and yes they had zebra domes some evenings. The offerings I didn't see any change in were the snacks and tea time, but we didn't get to those every day so they might have changed a little. After breakfast they put out the sodas. Some days the beers would be out early, sometimes not until afternoon, but I did hear people ask for them and they were supplied. The wine and cordials were out in the evening only, about 5-6 different choices each. The wine is out with the appetizers, and the cordials are out with the desserts.

You're getting close! :rotfl: You are correct that there are NO CL rooms at Kidani - CL rooms are ONLY at Jambo: Rooms are on floor 6 for DVC; floor 4 for non-DVC. NO CL rooms on floor 5 - those would be the "standard" and "savanna" view villas (no CL privileges).

The 6th floor is very small in that it is only on the perimeter of the massive lobby. The lounge overlooks the lobby; the villas are on either side of the Club Lounge. The back wall is the huge glass window overlooking the firepit and Arusha.

:thumbsup2 Thank you!!! Floors 5 and 6? What floor is the CL on?

6th

try this link and see if the layout makes more sense:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/aklmap.htm

Notice that the only rooms labeled 6XXX are on both sides of the lobby. Those are the coveted few you'd be trying for if you're using DVC points.

Working from the top down: Club Lounge is on 6th floor. DVC-CL villas are on 6th floor (only 11 2-bedrooms, which can also be booked as 1-bedrooms and studios).

Floor 5 is DVC Villas - no CL rooms on floor 5.

Floor 4 is regular resort rooms, a number of which are CL rooms - those will usually be closest to the lobby, on Zebra and Kudu trails. You have to go up 2 flights to get to the lounge.

Floor 3 is lobby level and regular resort rooms.

Floor 2 is regular resort rooms.

1st floor has the restaurants, kids clubhouse, fitness center, laundry room (no guests rooms).

Hope that helps and that I didn't further confuse you!! ;)

Wow! Thanks! The offerings look delicious in the photos that have been posted. I really appreciate the detail in your post. I know DH will ask for beer before going to the pool. He likes a few to chill. October should still be plenty warm for some pool time.

:thanks: for the link. So really the number of 2 bedrooms can dramatically decrease if either side (the Studios or 1 bedrooms) get booked first? I don't have a snowball's chance in heck. :rotfl:  Thank you for explaining it to me. Spacial relations are not my strong suit.
