Good Sunday Morning Jamborinis and Kidanites! :goodvibes

It's a beautiful day in Florida! :cool1:

Morning all,

I think someone had asked a while back what movies were being shown this month and here's the list:

Jambo
Sun - Toy Story 3
Mon - Hocus Pocus
Tues - Monsters Inc
Wed - The Lion King
Thurs - Finding Nemo
Fri - Tangled
Sat - Tarzan

Kidani
Sun - Tangles
Mon - The Nightmare Before Christmas
Tues - Beauty and the Beast
Wed - Up
Thurs - Dumbo
Fri - A Bug's Life
Sat - The Lion King

This is probably better off in the DVC forums, but thought I'd ask here. When did I miss the change that if you book a Standard DVC room at Jambo house (using my pointa)that is was no longer just a pool view? That's why I always book standard at Jambo cause I love the pool view.

When I checked in yesterday with no requests made, I was originally given a room in the farthest pod out with a partial savannah view. WHAT? I want to see the pool! :guilty: So I asked nicely and they said standard view is all over the lodge...news to me. But I asked nicely again and they found me a nice pool view room instead.

Needless to say, I guess I'll be addding the pool view request from now on to me DVC stays.

Well, some of you had requested a sneak preview of some photos. I had my Trash the Dress photo shoot in Disneyland yesterday. You are going to have to wait for the full details until I get back and have time to get started on my trip report, but here are the first few Trash the Dress photos:

I finally managed to get to know my photographer Jennifer in person yesterday after we chatted online for months and she is an absolute star. I am a bit nervous about having my photo taken ( unless there are characters involved ) and she just made it so easy and fun. Some shots and poses she set up. Others I suggested and everything was wonderful. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos. I think she took over 400.

Beautiful photos. What is Trash the Dress?:confused3 I must have missed that post!

Five years ago today I married the man of my dreams, the man who makes me laugh, the man who smiles at me and makes my heart skip a beat, the man who looks at me with love in his eyes, and my breath catches in my throat, the man who is my best friend.

Congrats on your anniversary.:goodvibes

:wave2: Not a chance for the t-shirt or today-only pins! I don't collect pins anymore and I had already decided I didn't want a t-shirt so I wasn't disappointed!!! :rotfl:

Here's the scoop on how this morning went: guests (apparently, since I wasn't there!) started arriving at 5am-- most of them are the serious collectors and ebay-ers ;)!! At 6am, CMs gave out wrist bands - 1,500 total - for the pins. 500 per hour for 3 hours (not sure if that started at 9 or 10 - but we sure saw the line at 9:25!!)

By the time I got into the Emporium at 9:15, there were no more shirts (male or female) that weren't already in customers' hands.

There were special anniversary cupcakes in the bakery -- gone before 9:30!!

I "listened" to the ceremony and shows as I worked my way OUT of the park!!! :rotfl2:

I spent my afternoon at Studios and it was pleasantly uncrowded!

:scared1: Wow that is alot of people. Glad you had a better day at HS.

Well, I have good news & bad news.

The good news: 2 weeks from today, I'll be at SSR!

The bad news: DD was supposed to join me for the week; now she'll only be able to come for three days, maybe four.

The good news: BECAUSE SHE GOT A JOB!! One that she wanted. And they called on her :bday:! :cheer2: :dancer: party:

So it's been a pretty good weekend!

Congrats to your DD getting a job.

We are packed and ready to go.:banana::banana:

Safe travels.

I didn't know that either.

Beautiful photos. What is Trash the Dress?

either.

Surprisingly Trash the Dress photography is something that was invented in the UK,but is better known and more common in the USA. The idea behind it is that the bride gets to wear her dress one last time and get it dirty or even damage it. Trash the Dress photo shoots often involve water and sand and often take place in pools, on beaches or in the sea. However, any unusual location will do. My photographer has done previous Trash the Dress sessions at a rubbish dump, a derelict factory and in a garage ( the kind that fixes cars ). They are quite artistic. When I first explored this idea, I had visions of the hotel pool and fountains. At some stage Jennifer said that it would be fun to do it at Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland and it involved from there. This is not the dress that I am going to wear for the vow renewal though.

Good Sunday Morning Jamborinis and Kidanites! :goodvibes

It's a beautiful day in Florida! :cool1:

Morning, Kathy:goodvibes:hug:

So last night I worked my 1st overnight:scared1: The work part of it was fine, it was quiet like I expected. However, I had a hard time making myself go to sleep...I slept only 1 hr before work 5pm-6pm:scared1: I was a zombie the whole night. I came home and slept from about 7:50am-11:00am. Have to do the overnight again tonight, so I am hoping to sleep from about 6pm-10pm?:confused3 Thats the plan.

Only 13 more days to go! I am totally looking forward to this vacation:yay: No stress, no work, NOTHING can get me down about this trip, Scott only being there 3 days is better than nothing, I'm not letting it get me down:banana:

As much as I love him and wish he was on the trip:lovestruc I know we wouldn't be doing rope drop on Sunday, I wouldn't be taking the spa time for myself on Monday, so I have to look at it that way.

Loving the live report and the pics, Brandi!:woohoo:

Corinna, did you actually trash the dress? I didn't see any photos of that. How cool MNSSHP and a major photo shoot.

Hi :wave2:
To all of us left behind from WDW!

Hi Alison, right back at you. :) Nope we are not kicking dirt here at all. We are just happy and supporting all our friends and enjoying all our live reports.

Yes, but some of us will be there soon. :cool1:

Mmmm didn't we just send you off and wish you a great trip to DL????

Are you going somewhere else too????

Don't you think you need to stay home once in awhile???? :rotfl::rotfl::rolleyes1

We walked right on to DME. No waiting just right on the bus.

We are here at Jambo House picking up our friends who are staying here and it feels like we are cheating on AKV by staying at BCV. :flower3:

My friend is coming to florida for the first time, from the Uk, she wants to book Boma for a family meal, however is worried her kids might not like the spice. Can she buy Zebra domes at AK, without going to Boma?

Thanks

...I don't know if this has been answered yet, but yes, she can buy them at the Mara...BTW, was she planning to only make ressies for Boma just to have some ZD's?? :confused3 I suggest that she still book Boma - there are plenty of items that the kids can eat, even if they are picky eaters [or don't like spicy food - remember, it's NOT 'Mexican spicy' ]. She can even ask the server to have the chef prepare something special for them, as long as it's a reasonable request...
